have a young fella building a gocart who is looking 4 a diff,wanting a big red 300 to 400 cc shaft driven,remember this is a school kid so money is tight,pm me if you have an old 4 wheeler for parts etc }8D }8D

All racing karts use a solid rear axle so no need for a diff, would that be a cheaper option? That way you just have a sprocket on the axle thats connected by chain to the engine.

yep bull its a home made 1 for the farm or beach, with the gear he has etc , shaft drivin is the only option

try a place called farm and trail mate ... cant recall the number off the top of my head but if you are after honda be prepared for around 150 , 300 kanga atleast ..

or else id say go for bull's idea will work better and a solid axel with chain and sprocket will be better in the long run for your needs cv's fill with sand and if its going to be used there alot will lunch itself all the time ..

some sort of race or sport quad set up will be the go .. a swing arm and single shock type thing with the axel carrier built in . much better in the long haul and stronger too
