You can get 1GB sticks of RAM cheap as chips now days, It would be best to get brand new unless you can get a good second hand one.

This goes for the Graphics card too
:cflag: Tramac is for getting there, Dirt is for Racing

Last 1gb stick of Ram I bought was around the $40 mark, and is the easiest part to install on the PC.

If you buy from a PC shop they will quite often fit it free of charge, so if ya get the RAM and Gfx from the same shop they will install it all in one go for ya.

It all depends on the type of ram your pc takes if its older model DDR400-256 will cost you around $115.00 for a 1gig stick
DDR2 800MHZ will cost $95.00 for a 2 gig stick...
DDR3 1333mhz Will cost $75.00 for a 2 gig stick...

Also when going to buy a new gfx card you need to no wether yours is either AGP' PCI' PCI-E x 16 0r x 20

Also when up grading graphics in older machines the power supply will generally need upgrading to... people have this impression more watts = more grunt..
WRONG.

When looking for a psu for gamming dnt look for wattage look for the amps on the 12 volt rail as this is whea the power is needed anythng over 18 amps and ul be fine
Some 350 watt psus from the likes of corsair have low wattage but large 12 volt rails :) Corsair VX 450 $179.00 will run 2 x HD5770s

Who ever you go to...dont use PC Hardware...When I was upgrading my graphics, I took it to these guys in Hamilton and got mucked around BIG time! They told me that my system was shit and I needed to get a new one. Well, I'm still on the same pc, with a card upgrade.(one of my customers from work hooked me up for $0.00)
I cant stand people who just want to bleed money from you and not do the job you've asked for.

Like Bull has mentioned Muzza bro, if you're purchasing them from a shop then get the shop to install it all, otherwise if you're bought the items off Trade Me etc.....maybe one of the online racing bros could help you out who lives within your area.
