Cockpit and wheel for sale
Hi All. I'm going to put this on Trademe in a few days and thought someone here might be interested. It's a cockpit and MS FF wheel (Gameport) unit. I bought it about a year ago and have no use for it anymore as I'm off overseas soon. It is multi-adjustable: the tub moves out through 5 slots; the backrest and pedals are adjustable for angle, and the wheel is adjustable for rake. It is a snug fit but a good one if you like the F1 style of feet out in front of you - once you're in, you're in for the whole race . It is a good alternative to making your own or paying hundreds for an over- the-counter one. I paid $150 for it so I'm looking for $100+, but I'm open to offers. Pick up in Auckland I'm afraid, as it's quite bulky. Cheers.

Hi Jay, It can be sperated into two parts: footwell/steering and tub. The wheel and pedals are screwed in place though they could be removed. It cost about $40-50 nz just to ship in the north Island as it is fairly heavy. One thing I need to mention is that, as I'm short, I dont find it too cramped, but the area around the knees/steering box can be tight vertically. The wheel mounting is adjustable and it also pays to raise the tunnel a few inches off the ground to create more space around the knees in an F1 style seating position. Length isn't an issue though, as it adjusts out fairly well.I used another wheel than this one and needed to raise the tunnel in this way to avoid the clamp. As I said, once you clamber in F1 style you are nice and locked in I'd prefer to sell to someone from the sim racing community so NZ$120ono could be the go.

Gameports are workable on XP in my experience. What XP did though, was jettison the Sidewinder software for onboard drivers...great for usb not so for gameport. However, you can load v.4.0 software and calibrate your wheel normally, you just won't get good FF. I used to have the FFturned on on the Wheel and off in-game for really good resistance/weight, just no FF.
Inspector, that's about the size of it at the moment. Any offers etc just pm me. I'll hold off of Trademe for a day or so to let those interested get sorted.

Well as you have offered this to our community I feel it only fair we support our fellow simmer and get him a good deal.
I offer/bid $80.00 for the wheel and seat. It is totally up to Red to accept any offer made at any time he wants. If I win this I will be asking one of the locals to pick it up from RV for me and hold it till we come up for the next Ping Zero (it is time the Palmy guys came in force anyway) and I'll bring beer to pay for their services. (and the beers I owe Prom as well)
Righto who's bid now? I'd hate to be bidding against myself, I tend to get a bit carried away in these situations and refuse to give up, out bidding myself just to make sure I win so I do need someone else to get involved or it could end up costing me an arm or leg and you know I can't afford to throw away any more.

Standby on the bidding the old fella from the far eastearn province known as the Hawkes Bay. I'm not really sure why you are bidding anyway as the Force Feedback wheel requires power and I believe it may be a couple more years before the lines get up your way at this stage. Speaking of stage, I guess you'll recieve this message when the stage coach gets in......
Anyway I understand there has been a formal offer made and if the 2 parties are happy I don't want to cause any problems or Sheriff Odie one Jetboy might come after me.......
