2010 Individual League | Registration | Rules | Results

Post by uturn » Thu Mar 04, 2010 8:01 pm

2010 KiwiSimRacing Stockcar Heat Individual League

Passworded members are invited to register for the 2010 KSR Stockcar Heat Individual League.

Registration will remain open until the penultimate event. (the second to last one) Drivers graduating from newbie night can enter as soon as they receive the password but not before.

Format:

This year, the Indy League will be held as a series of individual events over the course of the year. Each event will be a standalone title with points gained going towards the end of year Indy Championship.

Sign In:

Sign in for each event will be required. Each event will have its own sign in topic and will give the drivers one week in which to prepare. Sign in for each event will close at least 12 hours before the event itself so that groups and grids can be determined and posted.

Groups:

Groups will be a maximum of 26 drivers and will be as many as required for each event. As a rough guide, Group 1 will start at 7.00pm, Group 2 at 8.00pm and if required Group 3 at 9.00pm.

Teamspeak:

Drivers will need to be on teamspeak 15 minutes before your racing is due to start. This is essential as you will miss getting the password to race for the night if you are not on teamspeak. Drivers who are not present in time will be excluded from that event.

Rules (applys for all events unless otherwise stated):

1. All drivers will line up for standing starts in pre-determined grids. Gridding will be done in a respectable manner.
2. Braking or holding on the grid after the race has started is forbidden.
3. Using the spacebar in any way during racing is forbidden.
4. Talking during racing is forbidden.
5. Wall riding (continuously using the wall to steer around corners) is forbidden.
6. All racing will be in an anti-clockwise direction.
7. There will be no abuse of any member at any time - while in servers, forums, TeamSpeak, MSN, etc.
8. If you are hotdogged, blow your engine or sustain enough damage that you have no steering, you must leave the race track immediately and park on the infield or failing that, in a position off the racing line.
9. Holding; you may hold a car on the wall, but not longer than 1 lap. Once passed by one car, a car holding another car on the wall must release and drive away before that same car or any subsequent car passes again. The car being held to the wall should not lose more than 1 lap to its original race position before released. If the held car is unable to drive away after being released this will not penalise the car that put it there. You may not hold a car that is already trapped motionless on the wall.

Points System:

All drivers will begin the Indy League Series with 500 points.
Each event will require the driver to pay an entry fee which will be announced in the event sign in topic. All event fees will be deducted when sign in closes for that event whether you race or not. There will be no refunds.
Drivers will be awarded points based on their finishing position; 1st = 50, 2nd = 40, 3rd = 30, 4th = 25, 5th through to last will receive 25 points minus their finishing position.
Drivers will be awarded 20 points for a hotdog and for 20 points for holding a car on the wall.
Drivers will lose 5 points for every lap they finish behind the race winner.
Drivers who fail to finish (dnf) will lose 30 points.
Drivers who lose all points will not be eligible to enter events where an entry fee is required.

Protests:

All races will be controlled by an admin member who will also be the protest referee. Protests are to be sent via PM to me before midnight on the night of racing with a detailed description of what happened eg. race, lap, cars involved. If I am not present, also include a replay.

Complaints:

If you have a complaint about points, other drivers, etc, please send a pm to me. Complaints made in other ways may result in exclusion.

Penalties for breaking rules:

1st offence will be exclusion from the event. You will lose all entry fee points and receive DNF for each race including the DNF points penalty.
2nd offence will be the same as the penalty for the 1st offence and an additional 50% of your points will be deducted.
3rd offence will be the same as the penalty for the 1st offence and an additional 100% of your points will be deducted. This will mean you can no longer enter events where an entry fee is required.

Cars:

No teams cars will be used. Drivers from the last round of individual league will have first choice of using the same car as the previous round. For drivers not using a car from the previous round, you must nominate your preferred car and at least 2 alternative cars in case your first choice is taken. Car selections will be confirmed before the first event. If a car that has been used in the last round of indy has not been retained by the same driver before the first event, that car will become available to the first driver that nominates it. Unclaimed cars will be allocated on a first registered first served basis.

Please register below indicating that you agree to the rules above and your choice of car.

After Sunday nights Bash for Cash at Sheffield a few of you have asked for a bit more detail on the points system.

The following is a breakdown of points awarded from the Sheffield meeting, Indy round three.

Image

The points awarded for placings were the same as listed in the first post in this thread under "Points".

As noted in the points exceptions for the Sheffield round, no points were deducted for laps behind or DNFs.

25 points were awarded to the best runner for each race. This week, Buzz87h grabbed 4 of these awards with 4 fastest lap times, 2 outright wins and amazing running in almost every race. 9saldana also scored with a spectacular run in the 25 lap qualifying heat.

50 points were awarded for top stirrer of each race. This was loosely based on the performance of those willing to put their cars and bodies on the line and was shared between FERG41e with the most violent fence-sitting ever seen, ford ill do for a consistent "you can't go round me so you'll have to go through me" attitude, and 55crew and palmer for oviously having no concept of self-preservation at all :larf:

Other Indy rounds will have similar points tables. I will keep posting them up like this so you can see where and how you are progressing, and will try to get the details up for the Auckland rounds as soon as possible.

Below a breakdown of points gained (and lost) at Baypark.

Image

This weeks Indy provided a diverse range of driving styles and the title of stirrer of the night was hotly contested between Sherman, Buddie, Ferg, Karl and others. In the end, Stirrer of the Night was awarded to Buddie. Buddie was the only driver to successfully hold a car on the slippery wall at Baypark, and did so with professionalism and style. Unfortunately after qualifying, Buddie failed to show for the finals. A pity, because he would probably have boosted his overall Indy position quite a bit.

The runner of the night was no contest. Scrapman took this honor with ease as he blitzed the qualifying heats and cruised to second in the first final. The second final was more of a challenge with well over half the drivers deciding to block at some point. Scrapman crafted his way through the waves of crippled cars and took out the title in style.

A disappointing number of drivers failed to show for the first group of qualifying and their Indy Points reflect this. One driver was also pinged for a grass cut, resulting in DSQ for the round. A first for the 2010 Indy League, and hopefully the last.

Thanks for an awesome round guys. Keep up the great driving _b _b _b

After an extremely long session of replay watching the final results of Carnage at Coventry have been tallied.

Overall a disappointing exercise with the results marred by some with an apparently blatant disregard for the few rules this Indy League has.

Specifically:
  • Rule 1 - "Gridding will be done in a respectable manner", does not include donuts, reversing into other cars, smashing into the car in front or beside you, or backing up to give you room to jump the start.
  • Rule 6 - "All racing will be in an anti-clockwise direction", means exactly what it says, and attacking a car or attempting to hold it by driving in a clockwise direction is not acceptable behaviour.
  • Carnage at Coventry special rule about attacking from the infield was specifically spelled out in both the sign-in topic, and on TS before racing. At UK tracks this rule is added because the infields at these tracks do not slow down cars so an attack from these areas can be impossible to defend against and usually results in damage to innocent drivers just trying to circulate. People on the 24/7 server are often kicked for this kind of behaviour and the only reason it didn't happen instantly in this instance was because the flag marshalls were navel-gazing (pretty typical of flag marshalls if you ask me). The drivers involved should have been black-flagged instantly and taken no further part in the nights events.
... as such, five drivers have been disqualified from the event and receive no points for the round.

At this point I would like to remind all Indy League drivers that every single Indy race has a replay recorded and is scrutinized very carefully. If you are breaking rules or are not competing in the spirit of the KSR Heat Indy League, it will not go unnoticed.

On a lighter note, Congratulations go out to those who did an outstanding job in difficult circumstances at Coventry _b _b _b

Runner of the Night was awarded to Tuf Tef Jnr with three wins, two second placings, displaying some skillful driving to avoid the carnage and minimise damage to his car when contact was inevitable. Tuffy tops out the points for the round in his first Indy for 2010.

Marty87 and Roaddog141h both grabbed Stirrer of the Race in group one heat one and two respectively. Roaddog also thrilled the crowd with a huge aerial display after being slammed by EvilKiwi in heat three. Somehow he recovered in time for the finals races later in the night.

Ford ill do earned three Stirrer of the Race awards in reasonably quiet company in the group two qualifiers. Unfortunately he paid for his dedication to carnage by failing to qualify for the finals.

Hotdog King was shared by EvilKiwi, who also earned Stirrer of the Race in heat three of qualifying group one and was awarded the Bronze Spoon for some brutal but legal blocking and bashing in the final races. EK gained the second place podium in his first Indy outing.

The Silver Spoon went to grim reaper, who battled tirelessly with no obvious plan of attack apart from causing as much carnage as possible.

The Golden Spoon was awarded to n@ki HARDCORE who absolutely devastated scores of drivers and their vehicles in both finals races. N@ki was unlucky not to manage any hotdogs, but there would have been many sore drivers and lot of new suspension parts ordered because of his skillful targeting of almost every vunerable car on the track.

Thanks to all who competed. Indy takes a break over the long Queens Birthday weekend so that those of you who are travelling to different events around the country are able to concentrate on the job at hand and not wishing you could find a computer and internet access in someone elses tent :clown:

Have a great weekend and stay safe :D

Round Six | East Coast Champs Results

In a low scoring round, Grim Reeper takes the round with two wins and runner of the night. A brave fight sees 9saldana closely followed by diesel, taking 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Scrapman pulls another one out of the hat with two hotdogs and stirrer of the night title, gaining valuable points overall.

The majority of the field suffered from not being able to complete the races on the lead lap, and one entry was disqualified for rejoining a race after being dogged.

Congratulations to all competitors. Hope to see you all at the next event. _b _b _b

Round Seven | Swaffham Superstock Sprint Series

The highest points scoring round thus far. Congratulations to Grim on a comprehensive victory, boosting him in the overall standings. The short sprint series suited some more than others.

One driver was disqualified for attacking other cars in a clockwise direction.

Round Eight | West Coast Superstock Champs

Once again the grim one takes out another round. Unfortunately a number of drivers experienced server/connection issues and this played its part in the round results also.

Runner of the night was no contest... Grim Reeper proving too slippery for the opposition.

A well deserved stirrer of the night title went to Gnome85a with two spectacular hotdogs and continual spooning in his three short qualifying heats. Unfortunately he failed to qualify for the finals and paid the price in a fairly low scoring round.

One driver was disqualified for continuing to race after being hot-dogged. Rookie mistake by a very senior driver >_<

Round Nine | Kaos at Kings

OMG! :clown: what can I say? An amazingly kaotic round and some crazy driving saw Diesel take the title but not the round in this hard hitting smashfest at Kings Lynn.

Standout drives by Diesel, leaner and booker saw them score well while many drivers took every opportunity to test their bumpers on any vunerable car part :B

Points were available for forcing other cars into the infield tyres and a few took advantage;
  • uturn (3)
  • leaner (2)
  • elmo (2)
  • SOPRANO (2)
  • diesel (1)
  • stoodlee (1)
  • booker (1)
  • skidlin (1)
  • jakethemus (1)
  • grim reeper (1)
Well done to everyone that finished in a brooodal round _b _b _b

NORTH ISLAND SUPERSTOCKS CHAMPIONSHIPS | FINAL RESULTS

1st pink
2nd Skidlin
3rd Booker

An intense championship with plenty of drama saw pink take out the title and Skidlin grabbing 2nd podium in an epic runoff with booker who finished in 3rd place.

Booker takes the round win with additional bonus points for runner of the night. Gnome85a desevedly took bonus points for stirrer of the night including a dubious wall hold and plenty of metal on metal contact. Many wall holds were attempted but the only other confirmed success was by stoodlee15b in the mighty (ugly) 8c machine.

Congratulations to all who competed _b _b _b

SINT MAARTEN SUPERSTOCK STOMP | FINAL RESULTS

Wow what a crazy track to run an Indy event on :B hopefully everyone had fun mostly :clown:

1st Tuf Tef Jnr
2nd pink
3rd Scrapman

Congratulations to tuffy for taking out this event with an extremely careful cruise beside the ditch. 2nd and 3rd places were decided in a tight but decisive runoff with pink victorious in the end.

The round was stolen by ministock6n with a mammoth bonus point total, gaining the well deserved Ditch Bitch title after burying 11 victims in the mud. LowGT4 also gained bonus points for the most ditchings in one race with 5 sneaky gutterings.

Finishing positions and points have been adjusted from the preliminary results posted on the night after viewing replays showed one driver having finished a race when it appeared on the night that he hadn't and two drivers finishing in the ditch rather than on the track.

Group 2 Race 1 - Gnome85a DNF
Group 2 Race 2 - race36s DNF
Final Race 2 - Terminator adjusted to 6th place relegating 6th and lower 1 placing

Finally three drivers have been disqualified from the nights proceedings after breaching the rules (yes there were rules).

Group 2 Race 1 - qt-pie DSQ - holding brakes at the starting grid
Group 2 Race 2 - leaner73c DSQ - holding brakes at the starting grid
Final Race 2 - 9saldana DSQ - using his ghosting car to his advantage

Congratulations and thanks to all competitors for a great round _b _b _b
