There was a couple of big ones overnight, just reminding us that mother nature is still there and in control.

We got hit by another quake this morning, a 5.1, but this one was quite shallow and moved a lot more then the previous 5.4's. I was quite close to the epicentre of this one as well and was driving at the time, thought Id just hit a gravel patch at 100km/h lol. Lost power for around 1/2 hour as well, just got sent home from work for the day.

The 1 this morning Bull was 6.1 on the Richter scale, was a wake up and a call at work lost all power and got sent home for the day

The geonet site said it was only a 5.1
Nevermind, just realised that a lot of sites don't actually use the richter scale anymore but some other one, 5.1 is roughly 6 on the richter scale.

Maybe because that one this morning was real shallow the others have been quiet deep

The magnitude is measuerd by the Richter magnitude scale... dont think there is another scale used....

It was first thought to be a 6.1, The reason it was thought to be one is because it was shallow in the ground with a depth of 6km.
But geonet is the site to use for correct information.

On the second paragraph of your first link it says the Richter scale has been superseded by the Moment Magnitude scale ... you should read your links before posting them
