NZ Superstock Champs | Qualifying Schedule |12/09/10

FORMAT

With a smaller number of entries than anticipated, the format for tonights qualifying event will be modified to give more races to each driver. Each driver will race in four 13 lap heats over the course of the night. The lowest scoring race for each driver will be nullified, leaving the three top scoring races to go towards the total of qualifying points. The top 32 drivers on points will move on to the finals next Sunday 19th September.

Code: Select all

So if a driver scores:

1st race | 26 points
2nd race | 8 points
3rd race | 18 points
4th race | 15 points

their total would be 59 points.

Or if a driver scores:

1st race | 26 points
2nd race | dnf (dogged)
3rd race | 18 points
4th race | 15 points

their total would still be 59 points.

It is possible to miss a race altogether and still make the finals.
Races will begin at 7.30pm and end at approximately 10.00pm. Below is an approximate schedule:

Race 1 - 7.30
Race 2 - 7.45
Race 3 - 8.00
Race 4 - 8.15
Race 5 - 8.30
Race 6 - 8.45
Race 7 - 9.00
Race 8 - 9.15
Race 9 - 9.30
Race 10 - 9.45

Drivers need to be on TS well before their races.

At the end of each race all drivers will exit the server and meet on ts before going on to the next race.

POINTS

Points will be awarded in the following manner for every race:

1st = 26 points
2nd = 25 points
3rd = 24 points
...
...
...
26th = 1 point

Hotdogs, DNFs, DNSs will receive no points

PROTESTS

Protests may be made in the form of a PM to me :clown: before midnight on Monday 13th September. All protests must state race number, lap number(s), driver(s) and car(s) involved and the rule(s) or condition(s) that were broken.

GRID FORMAT

ALL GRIDS WILL BE DETERMINED BY AI AND BE STANDING STARTS, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO CONTACT UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO MOVE BUMPER TO BUMPER. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TRAILERING!!!!

Please ensure you have a copy of this schedule and be on TS well before your races.

Good luck everyone and long live the goat :ghost:

A few questions, in the original post it says qualifying format to be confirmed. I cant see anywhere in either thread where it says how many qualifying spots there are? I assume 26 like the normal but it doesn't hurt to be safe _b .

I have seen the answer, thanks uturn _b :dazed:

Also rule 6 (I think) I see to be quite blurry, the one that says you cant use the wall to your advantage (in the opinion of the referee). I just want to get a fair idea of what that actually means, weather that is wall riding (obvious no no) and other such things. Or situations where driver A push's driver B into the wall causing Driver B's car to become damaged, this will in turn give an "advantage" to driver A. I would very much appreciate if we could have an insight to what the referee's are looking for with regard to this rule. Thanks in advance _b .

The rules for this event are straight from the SNZ rulebook (although I did modify a couple and leave a few out)... if you can make all of them out with 100% clarity you are doing better than me.

I believe the rule that you mention best fits the contemporary "No wallriding" rule which exists in the Heat 24/7 rules but doesn't(?) in the real-life rules. Gaining advantage might be interpreted as bouncing off or running along the wall rather than turning the corner. The referees will be looking at cars who would not easily complete a lap if there was no wall to help them make it around the track.

I had a good return to heat in my books.
R1 after getting taken to the wall in Lap 1 Turn 1 and damaging my wheel I just kept going and avoiding the person trying to take me out and managed to get 14th.
R2 yet again I got taken out in Lap 1 which made me smile actually, because people think i'm a threat haha. Managed to finish 9th which was an improvement from R1!
R3 well... I was sitting in a good spot on last lap but then got hotdogged so that ended my race.
R4 I tried my hardest to get up there as I had to carry the 14th place over as I got a DNF. Managed to get 3rd, wrapped with that!

Thank you Uturn and Booker and the rest of the admin teams for Nz's, hopefully I done enough to qualify for my first NZ Champs! Also thank's to the people that blocked me all night last night, made me smile to think that people think i'm good enough to take 1nz :D :D

Good fun. I forgot how much fun this thing is. Good battling with 6n, Scrapman, tuftet just to name a few. The pace certainly jumped up a huge amount since I last raced. Since reinstalling heat all my records are coloured in different people names with times that would have been considered unachievable 2-3years ago. Shot guys, I'm hoping I done enough to get through _b .
