My Gti-R when I got it 3/4 months ago, motor blew up about 2 months after owning it (oh dear) so invested in a new motor with forged pistons, rods etc.. Have sanded back mags and polished the lip & sprayed centre of wheel black.. Took hours and hours but looks awesome! Will post more photos when its all done. :)

Dont under estimate the lil turbo starlet..power to weight ratio there pretty quick. I had one a few years ago. Had no problems at all with mine. Painted it tiger mica (the holden gold) palmy boyz might of seen it around as i traded it up there for a holden ss :D

GTIR's always die, usually a problem with lack of servicing throughout their life, as they have oil squirters onto the cams. lack of servicing causes the jets to clog up with gunk, which in turn kills the cams/valvetrain.

Either that or the gearboxes in them. Cool cars, always wanted one but steered clear due to their problems (:

GT's are prety quick for what they are. Here's a list of cars iv raced and the results: ;)

2007 Ford coon (i won)
89 Mazda GTX (i won the launch, lost in third then pulled him back in 4th gear then he slowed dwn)
92 Toyota Silver-top Levin (Dickd it)
89 BMW (Left it in the dust)
95 Holden V6 (i won)
89 rb20de skyline (i won)
2001 Subaru Forester (i won)

Iv raced all these cars in the last 2 weeks (since iv had my car back on the road), i agree they're not the fastest car around but they are very quick when you add to the standard engine, ie. Front-mount, wastegate, etc....

here's pics of my car of what it looks like now:D

Leave your racing on the track, young people in turbo cars that race on the road are what drives our insurance, and road toll up
