The moderators are just working through the use of KSR clan tags by members.

The tag will not be automatic right for members to use but... will have some sort criteria to be met or have to be earnt somehow to be able to use it...

as I say we are just starting to work on it and will let you know whats the go when we know

Not to sure about having to "earn" the KSR tag (or perhaps more to the point [KSC]?), know thats frequently the case on other forums etc but just thinking along the lines of the racing that we do and its pretty much "come along and have a go, we'll help where we can" , can see that flowing through to the KSC side of the house, we're a pretty welcoming bunch (hell we've let Sas in)

Bit worried that people may see any procedures other than signing up to the KSR forum and saying hello as a hindernace to just coming along and having a bit of fun (which is what the matches against Scu are all about for both sides)

If we were going to have a full on match then we'd probably select based on people that have played in the friendlies but still cant see a place for "earning" the KSC tag

I think that just being an active member of both KSR and KSC should mean that you are entitled to run that clan tag. By active I mean racing in a league for the KSR and taking part in friendly and serious KSC scrims etc.

Hell we are all here for fun, if it was serious I wouldnt be playing cod4 as I would lose 999 times out of a 1000!!

Yes it is a come along and have a go thing and yes all help will be given to new people... and anyone that needs it...

What was said is a clan tag is not just a sign up and use thing....

This is slightly confusing.
If you guys have picked KSR as your own clan tag then it might not have been the best choice as it's the acronym for the Kiwi Sim Racing forum.
There seems to be two groups here at the moment, the guys that have been using KSR as a more serious clan for FPS games, and those that have been using it to identify themselves as being part of this forum when we play friendly matches against SCU for example, and some might be mixing the two aswell?

This seems to be related to the upcoming COD4 matches so...
Jetho mentioned KSC, I guess for Kiwi Sim Combat. If using KSR will be a problem because you guys have created a proper FPS clan under KSR then we'll just use KSC when we play SCU, just a tag all the same really to easily seperate ourselves from SCU on the server

BTW, do you guys use KSR as in 'Kiwi Sim Racing', or does it mean something else?

That's the only one I know of.

Everyone that plays COD4 on KSR should be able to have KSR or something along the lines OF KSR
The clan should have {KC} (KIWI COMBAT) or something
If [KSR] is a clan shouldn't uses be having scrims etc??? and just not against SCU

For the sign up or whatever gets done it shouldn't be a YES/NO thing, it should be when you hit a high RANK.
So what if the guy sucks everyone needs a shoot at thinks give that person a chance in there life.....

Now that there is a more specialised area for FPS here at KSR and not just a random topic floating around. I think give the moderators some time to chat and consult with the senior members and new members of the new area (no offical title as yet) and i'm sure they will get it right.

In my view anyone should be able to use [KSR] at anytime they wish, being the title of the main fourm. and as suggested use [KSC] (sub forum for combat)for those that want to take the FPS alittle bit more serious. With set rules if the mods wish to implement them.

Yar Boony, that was the general idea (so long as they were a member of the forum obviously).
As soon as the forum switched to being called 'Kiwi Sim Racing' many of us have used [KSR] casually in front of our names in many areas of gaming. Many of us started using [KSR] for Team Fortress 2.
It's generally been for casual use and has a very unofficial status if you like

Perhaps one of those chaps that have been using [KSR] more seriously as a clan tag could elaborate more on exactly their view of the tag?

so at this time we can or cant use the [KSR] in the name eg [KSR]ShaneNZ (new) ShaneNZ (old)

Current Moderators idea's

The KSR tag should be left as a generic type tag for members and use the KSC or even KSRc as the one for the more serious FPS player

So with the next scrimmage a few days away has there been a decision to what the 'criteria' is to use the clan tag KSR, or KSC for that matter

but how often will we scrim tho ? every 2nd Thursday? or every Thursday night

Well shane at the moment we scrim atleast once a week, being it on a sunday or thursday night. I'm sure we can organise Scrims with other clans as well.
