It will still rely on one persons upstream to run a listen server, and with broadband the way it is in this country, most servers will fail at about 9-10 players.

if that... hosting zombies on W@W you get 150-200 ping in NZ... dunno how it will cope with excess of 4-5.

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes a mod for COD4 which has all the weapons perks maps etc that MW2 has :larf:

that would therefore be a fail mod.

With that lovely graph think this one can wait till its in the bargain bin.... :ffs: how can one game rock so much and their next iteration suck so bad

Just had my first play on mp (havent tried sp)

Had to get over the fcuked installation process where it really really doesn't want you to use the disks, would prefer a download

Nowhere near as bad as I was expecting tbh

My web connection was worse that those around me on the servers but it didn't seem to affect things too much, that said I only played a 6v6 tdm

Graphics are unbelievable good, that being said it is completely obvious its a straight port, you cant lean ffs

Will be playing throughout the arvo so we shall see if there is anything to really moan about

After a few solid hours on mp I can gives a pretty good opinion on how the basics work.

Over-all it's great, the lag that everyone was worried about doesn't really seem to be there, I played a game this arvo with mostly yanks and I had no lag whatsoever _b

All you do is launch the game and pick what you wish to play, iw.net does the rest, really good for 'casual gamers' such as myself, bit of a shame you cant go on a 32 player spam nade server (if thats the fetish for the day), but 18 players still feel's ok

Have no idea how the private matches work yet etc. so that is something to look into for possible KSR vs SCu matches :D

Maps seem rather huge, not sure if that's just me not used to them and knowing all of the maps rather well in CoD4 but they all seem really detailed and even better everything seems to be destructable

Kills streaks are epic, had a guy today get a 25 streak and he got nuke to drop, I mean ffs a nuke :D

On the whole I have been surprised and the whole no dedicated server shyte may have been blown out of proportion somewhat

p.s is it wrong to like becoming a terrorist and shooting 100's of civilians in sp? ;)

edit
Should add in this is on the P.C

Is the single player worth it? It quite short I hear?

MP don't worry me as I don't like going online to get ass-kicking, prefer that in private.

It is very very short.

6.5 hours on hardened just doesn't seem long enough, aparantly gets knocked off in 4 hours on regular difficulty

the story is pretty good, if not hard to follow at stages. Had me rather engrossed in the story, and without giving away too much there are some familiar faces that enter the story, which thickens the plot somewhat.

The scene that the media got a hold where you kill civilians in an airport is brutal, I can see why the pc lobby groups got a wee bit ancy about it ;)

There will be another modern ware-fare type game by IW, even less closure than CoD4 sp so a sequel could be very easily put together, which could explain the shortness of the game

Good sp, wouldnt spend $100 on it just for that mode how-ever

Haven't tried Co-op as of yet either
