Easter Weekend - National Karting Champs Invercargill

Post by Bull » Mon Apr 18, 2011 6:37 pm

I posted this in Off Topic but as I know a lot of ya's don't post/read in there so thought I would put it in here too.

I don't know if many of you on here are from the deep south, but if ya's are, the New Zealand Karting champs are on Easter weekend with Qualifying Friday and Racing Saturday/Sunday.

The track is located more or less beside Teretonga

Im heading down Wednesday morning to compete so will be good to catch up with anyone from the deep south _b

Will be some very competitive racing with the likes of Andy Knight, The Cunninghams, Matthew Hamilton, some Guy from Aussie who has won numerous titles over there, Jody Vincent etc etc all racing so the fields are full of class.

If anyone needs any info on track, contact numbers etc feel free to PM me :)

Cheers

Cheers Rocket, woulda been good to see ya down here!

Had qualifying today, not a lot of grip on this track at all. Qual'd 4th fastest after first run, but then had setup issues in the second run, and of course there was more grip in the track in the 2nd run so everyone got faster bar me, and I got pushed down to 10th.

Hopefully it doesn't rain/snow like it did last I raced here on race day :larf:

Ended up 5th/5NZ. Had to work hard from qualifying back in 10th to get up to 7th for the final race and managed to get up to 5th, its hard work when there is less then .1 between the top 12, passes come few and far between and then when you need to chase someone down it doesn't happen :larf:

I believe its being televised in a week or two on Sky/Cue TV, will post times etc when I find out

It's tempting as we did enter the series, but as a JR. We've missed two rounds and need to save for a another engine so will just hit the Champs meeting - right here at home in Welly! Looking to do the Schools champs, UH GP, enduro, Blossom and the NI's this year.

You can enter on the day aswell, if you have moved up a class, but as ya say saving money so will hopefully see you at other meetings _b
