Driving Etiquette

Post by BK » Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:21 pm

I've noticed in the racing that some people let us know when they are leaving or entering the pits.

Is there a drivers standard / etiquette that should be followed in a race or is this by choice?

By choice.

Often used at enduro rounds where pit stops are mandatory. Mapping a key for autochat "pitting now" message can be useful to prevent a following driver smashing into the back of your car as you slow. Importance depends on the format of the pit entry. On some tracks (Oran!) entry is from the racing line (and even if you chat "pitting" you can still get rear-ended and pushed half way along the pit wall with not enough fuel for another lap and you can't reverse without being DQd but don't get me started ... :ffs: )

IMHO a message for exiting pits isn't as important, anybody that is using a mid-race racing line that would hit cars exiting the pits deserves to be in an accident that could also wreck their own race.

Cheers vandem.

I'll keep that in mind for the Bathurst round...
