DRM Revival Mod 2.0 - now released

Post by BK » Thu Mar 08, 2012 11:02 am

The DRM Modding Team has released new previews and a video trailer, getting people excited for the upcoming release of their DRM Revival 2.0 mod for rFactor.

EDIT: check the post below for a local link

The 2.0 version will wrap up the team’s work for rFactor, adding new skins, improved sounds and physics as well as a brand new car to the mod – The Schnitzer Motorsport Toyota Celica.

The Celica raced in the Division 1, facing competition from the almighty Porsche 935s, the Ford Capri and the BMW M1. The car competed in the 1977 & 1978 seasons, being driven by Rolf Stommelen & Harald Ertl and clinching some promising results. The Celica was entered by Schnitzer Motorsport, a legendary team that still is the backbone of BMW Motorsport to this very day, the Celica being one of the team’s very few non-BMW endeavors.

I downloaded the 4 parts and re-compressed (saving 76MB using 7zip)

Had a quick few laps around Watkins Glen GP in the Capri

Even on default settings the car felt pretty stable. Tried the Celica and found you have to run DX9, otherwise the car doesn't show. Good car but more competition for the Lancia maybe as it didn't feel as fast as the others.

Was 4 sec off my PB in the Capri, so don't know if the changes in this version has effected it or it just the driver

Edit: Starting to feel like this version of the mod is slower. Ran a few laps of Le Mans and was nearly 6 sec of my fastest lap and I had help down the straight from a Porker... still great fun to drive though :larf:

I did a fresh install. It says to remove all old versions before install.

I forgot how great these cars sound :D
