Im sure someone can help me :)

Post by 2LO » Tue May 22, 2012 11:17 pm

Hey guys.

Just wondering weather anyone can tell me why I cant get 1920x1080 resolution for rF? I have googled to see if theres a way to resolve the issue but that bought up nothing :/

Any help appreciated _b

I run in that resolution on a 27" monitor.
Is rFactor patched up?

Is your PC even capable of it?(video card/monitor) you haven't listed anything, if it is, the usual suspect can be a munted graphics driver install, has happened a couple of times to me where rfconfig has had missing resolutions.

I thought my rF was patched up growler but I've just realised it isn't :/ And Hugh, I imagine it should be more than capeable of running it. I have a Q9400 CPU with 8GB ram 3826mb ATI radeon 4870 X2 card etc..

Every other game I have I run at 1920x1080 no worries at all its just rF that seems to have the problem.

Oh and I've got a 22'' Viewsonic LED 1080p Full HD monitor.

I would start with display driver removal, even to the extent of using driver sweeper, then reinstall the latest drivers.
or if you don't want to do that, do a rflite install and see what resolutions are available in rfconfig.

What I would try doing is download rf lite and overright you're rFactor folder. It will make sure all the right files and folders are there and in the right places.

rF Lite is by far the best thing to happen to this game. I Have about 6 different installs of rF Lite for different mods etc to reduce loading times etc. And if anything ever gets corrupt you can just over the file again no problem.

But going by the 1.4 rF Config, it seems you haven't got the latest patch. Have you installed 1.255F correctly? Does it show that its that version in game?

Yeah Bull its got 1.255 down bottom left corner and I just followed the basic install of the patch extracted files from RAR, Copy and pasted/overwrite the files in my main rF folder. After that I had to put in my activation code it accepted then loaded game to 1.255.

I think I may just fully reinstall rFactor, and see how I go from there.

Waste of time.

Just download rF Lite and install that - it is all the essential files needed minus mods and tracks, so just download that and overwrite your current stuff or create a new folder directory if you wish.

Whatever the problem is was probably with your original rFactor install, and reinstalling that same install probably won't fix anything.
