GT Legends fun events for after the rF2 league
I plan on getting some GTLegends (GTL) events organised for some sideways fun.
NZD$10 on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/44690/
Will update this post with more details and help on getting the game functional online soon.
http://www.riven.co.nz/GTLegends.wmv
Installation Method I Used.
Install GTL in steam
After GTL installed, right click on the game in your library list, then click on properties. Choose the "local files" tab, and hit "Browse Local Files".
This should open windows explorer into your GT Legends folder. From here go up one level (usually "common").
Copy the GT Legends folder, and paste into your C:\, or another drives root and rename from "GT Legends" to "GTL"
This is so Steam doesnt fart about with the GTL files.
From here on we're only dealing with your new GTL install location, NOT the Steam one!
Permissions fixes for Windows7/10
Right click your new GTL folder and click properties. In the "security" tab click the edit button.
Click Add, type in everyone and click Check Names, (This should underline Everyone) and click OK
Select Everyone from the list and tick "Full Control" below then click OK until all the properties windows are closed.
Compatability fixes for Windows7/10
Now go to the main GTL folder of the new install, right-click GTL.exe and click properties. Under Compatibility tick the box and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" and tick "Run this program as administrator".
Do not run the game yet. Repeat this for GTLConfig.exe too.
All Cars Cheat
Download TG2001.zip and place extract in to the GTL folder.
(Its a zero byte sized file, this is normal)
Multiplayer Lobby Fix
Delete the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt file, this is not needed and breaks multiplayer lobby.
Start the game now
(NOT THROUGH STEAM!)
You'll be asked for video settings etc, then continue.
Create a new profile however you like.
Setting up multiplayer
Go to Multiplayer>Internet
Click Register
Fill in the information (E-mail can be left blank). For the username it is not necessary to use you real name (this name will only show in the lobby so it can be anything).
To complete the registration click the arrow button on the right.
At this point if you get a failure, its likely that GTL/Steam havent put in the CDKey.
This will require the use of RegEdit, which can break your system if you mess up. Best to PM me at this point if you want some help with the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\10tacle Studios\GTL\Keys
Create a new String Value called SerialNumber the Data part is the CDKey supplied by Steam (copy/paste)
Reboot your computer and re-launch GTL to register for multiplayer. At this point it may even ask for the CDKey this time.
The GTL game luckily will alt-tab nicely and you can use ctrl-v to paste in-game the key.
Once registered fill in the login information you just created and click the arrow button on the right.
If it takes you to the lobby you have successfully set up the multiplayer
Optionals
Close GTL and go to the main install folder. Go to UserData/*Username*/ and open the file *Username*.PLR in notepad.
Scroll down to [Driving aids]. Make sure you have the following settings:
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1"
No AI Control="1"
Pitcrew Push="1"
Pit Spot Marker="1"
Scroll down to [Game Options]. Make sure you have the following settings:
Replays Dated="1"
Display Pit Board="1"
Optional plugins
XD live telemetry Extract to the main install folder (side by side with GTL.exe).
After run GTL and exit, there will now be a XD.ini file that you can muck about with to suit.

Re-ordered mine.
Didn't realise there are so many mods out there now.
I know there is Red Dawsons Camaro, and an XB Falcon GT Coupe but there are allsorts.
Could do a Hillman Imp league!
The update on GT Legends 2 is that everything has been put on hold due to an illness.

Also found that you can download and activate Steam version if you still have the DVD, need to use the online key on the back page of the booklet.
For activation and on-line setup do not use the dashes in the key.

Do not try and install GTL from the DVD, problem with Starforce

After a few hours googling and trying, I still have no FFB in GTL.

Re: GT Legends fun events for after the rF2 league
fyi, some real life GT Legends-style racing tonight (Sunday UK time), Goodwood Member's Meeting, stream link below. Currently watching an entertaining Midget / Sprite battle, around 6 lead changes in the first 3 laps! Later come touring cars from late 70s / early 80s (Rover SD1, Capri etc) and mid 80s (M3, Sierra etc) and E types and Mustangs and GT40s and Lister-Jags and much more.

Cheers Vandwm.
I've been watching some of the uploads they have put on Youtube over the last year or so, very entertaining. Nick Swift in his wee Mini is some brilliant watching
