NZNL - Season 5 - Race 1 - Supercell

Post by odonohuesp » Sat Aug 06, 2005 11:25 pm

Race 1 – Supercell

Well with a new season underway, there were some major changes during the off season. There were only 2 teams that remained intact while the others were shuffled around and deals were made. SimTV and Team DuDs will return with all their original members with the DuDs attempting to hold onto the team championship for the 4th straight season. The biggest shake up seems to be among Team Marine with new captain Jay, bring in some fresh blood after Odie left the team in the trenches. Jay has picked up Murphy’s Law, Mike Moore and last season rookie series champion, Gregory. With the performance of Team Marine in the 3 practice races, Team Marine may be a team to contend with this season. Another rookie making their debut in the main league will be Daza with Team Vengeance, who will be taking over for Rob C.

Monsters Inc saw their team captain Sulley step away, so he could concentrate on the GTR series and Daniel Wood stepped away for GPL and other commitments, so replacing those 2 drivers are Dick Trickle aka Mark Richards aka Cronik a former Monsters Inc. driver and Season 3 Champion Odie. There are already talks that this is the team to beat. Team Voda is looking to replace Typhoon before the first race of the season to allow them to compete with a full squad for the upcoming season. Team Google is also looking for a 4th driver. There are a couple drivers who have yet been signed to a team, so put your resumes into Team Voda and Google and you may be helping that team win a championship.

An odd on favorite to win Season 5 is coming out of Team DuDs, ZeBazzil is to win the title and Happy will give him a run for his money. Remember the individual championship can be won by any driver, but not during the first couple laps of a race.

Let’s remain calm and settle down as we enter Season 5 of this outstanding league.

Tony I say you drop the poor sack from the team since he seems to not really be all there. Let him run solo this season since he can't be loyal to just one team. :D

Hmmmm ..... I think my AI are using performance enhancing drugs...

Practicing Supercell, cruising along about 205ish looking to score ... err, draft. All of a sudden, an AI driver screams past me like I'm bloody going backwards!

Now before anyone jumps in and quips that I probably was, I jumped into a replay and saw some scary numbers... O_o

Top speed during that lap: 258mph (without drafting!)
Lap Time: 33.525s
RPM stuck on 10,000 and still revving upwards slightly.

Anyone else had experiences with a quite obviously cheating or broken AI?

Quite often on the "non" original tracks the AI are all over the place, online is a different story, it's just the DuDs all over the place ;)

Cop: Are you OK?
