For clarification on the pit stop. Is it a mandatory drive-through or a mandatory tire change?
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

I thought a "must change all tyres" would be the better option. Seems more race sim , than just stopping

Is it possible to turn everything off ? If you can, it would just be a stop and go. which would be banger.

I suggest getting 4 new tires should be mandatory.

If you want to waste a truck load of time cooling half shagged tires, be my guest ;)

Lets just see how it goes :)

Not as far as I know. To turn off tires you move the cursor down to the front or rear and then press the left arrow till it gets to "no change" to not change the respective tires.

I think this is the last setup I was using but I'm not sure and they have all been a bit flaky as I keep changing the tires round, different ones were better with different tire combos. :p I can't remember what this was saved with but with soft front / hard rear I was running 1:41's. It is very tail happy like this though.

It's much better with soft/medium. Then I run in the 1:40's.

Of course this might be entirely the wrong setup. I'm trying to remember which number I used last last night. :p

Riven's setup is probably better I seem to be lacking grip in the rear and I'm making up for it with max. wing rather than fixing it. :p

So, I see we will be able to do a stop-go, but will there be any rules on what time/laps the pits will be opened?

If not, then I have a sneaky pit to make :D

Hmmm, its going to be dodgy on the pit department isnt it.

Is there something we can do about overheating engines ? some people are just going to drive round with white shite coming out the back of their cars and causing dings because people can't see. GT cars are much easier to overheat.

We shall see how bad it is.
Its quite easy to fix, close your freakin radiator. Anyone trailing smoke has prolly not put any time into their setup and it will show. The damage multiplier is not high enough really for ppl to be blowing motors for any other reason.....

We can boo ppl off the track. We can also look at kiking ppl from the second race for running a badly smoking car..... ideas AbounD.....

Also going to amend the top of this section as the Pit window is between lap 2 and lap 16. Make your required stop out side those laps and its the same as not pitting at all....... No points and a Razzing in here :)

Specifiny lap numbers for pit window is OK for the opening slot, but the closing map number will be different for each track. Perhaps just make it that you cant pit on the last 2 laps?

I guess I better test pitting and figuring out the whole pit call issue. Turning tyres off and fuel.

I'm going to stop somewhere that is not my pit. That way they can't change the tyres.

OK - So are you saying that if we drive into the pits, come to a stop and then drive out, we have done our compulsory pit?

i.e. we don't actually have to stop in our pit box, we just have to stop? I just did some pit stop tests and it is really gay. You can't change any settings to you get to the pit. You then have to view tyres etc and decide whether to change, you have to know how many laps you have left to go and change fuel to suit. Then you have to hit enter, turn your engine off, then start your engine when they say. In both my tests the engine did not start when I pushed the button but did after I pushed it a second or third time. The system is extremly frustrating and won't add anything to the race, more likely increase the possibility of incidents on pit entry and exit and driver frustration because the pitting system will take heaps of practice to get used to.

I did a few pitstop tests over the weekend, I never turned engine off, just came to complete stop in my bay hit enter when screen came up and waited forever for them to do tyres and gas and then away.

Not worked out yet how to chnge the settings etc, may resort to reading the book :D

Small tip for pit entry, use your Pit Limiter, before the line, slow down to say 60 in 2nd and then hit it, on leaving pit make sure you don't turn it off until after the pit exit lights, and should be apples...

You may be mistaken Sulley. If you take fuel you must turn your engine off.
