Ok I must've had more than enuff fuel to complete race and so it didn't make me add some therefore engine kept running, Lol I dunno, I'm guessing, pit takes an age with changing tyres, still not found how to fix that, guess well all learn more about it tonightInspector wrote:You may be mistaken Sulley. If you take fuel you must turn your engine off.

rFactor hopefully is better
Anyone know what causes it, as a hunt round my system didn't show up anything?
Time to reinstall GTR me thinks...

go to bed Marty.
Mine was a series of stutter blips- when you go past say, ripple strips, there seems to be a frame missing every second or so, so you get a kind of slide show. Was getting 90-100fps then down to 50-60 and finally about 25-30 at races end with much stuttering and even, at the last lap a total screen freeze
I have tried everythng: reboot, virus and background stuff off; graphics down to the minimum; vidio bios setting of 32mb, 64mb, 128mb, 256mb...no change except to get worse. It' is such a rooter as the game is the business. I've been on higher ping servers with less issues than the inspire one. I have a feeling that other cars making smoke and dust etc is too much for my specs. Next wek I'll turn sp fx off completely and see if that helps. I'm on a work network and maybe the connection is at fault.

If rFactor is anything to go by, shadows can have a huge effect on frame rates as well, so try knocking that back a notch or two as well if you haven't already..
With high shadows in rFactor my frames would jump between 90 and drop to 10 at times, just knocking that back and its now 90+ all the time

I agree with Riven.
I made sure that I had 1 stop set up in the setup and minimal fuel (ie: as low as it would go (which does not appear to be zero!). Then you come in to your pit. It stops, the white pit instructions screen appears, use the down arrow to the tyres and press the left arrow to get no change. Do for fronts and rears (left arrow presses may be different if you have a mixture of softs and mediums) then press enter and youre away.
I stuffed the left presses up in my first stop and had to peer at the screen to find it again hence an extra 10secs wheer I let Riven get away in race 1, but race 2 I did it OK in 6.6 secs. and that was slow!
My main problem is not overspeeding. I wasnt certain of the pit limiter so made sure I crawled out of the pits and again lost time. Still lessons learnt for next time.
Does anyone know for sure what is the speed limit? in mph and kph?

The ISDN data rate is a dual channel ISDN rate not single channel. We've been over this before.Riven wrote:Some people are NOT using ISDN for there connection rate
Last night GTR sat on 2mbit upload only for each race.
With 20 players MAX on last night, thats 100kbit/s each
100 != 64
So ~100kbit/s per person is correct.
And when I say "we" I mean me and whoever I was talking to about it last season after the second race.

Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Well that's interesting. I had a P4 3gig and a Radeon 9800 Pro in my gaming PC and I had 1fps issues randomly. I have now upgraded to a 64bit Athlon and a X800XT and given my old one to Aaron and I haven't seen the 1fps issue since.

Not that I'm aware, the opposite is now the norm, but that's a whole nother can of worms, just take it from many here that AMD64 and a Geforce6, you can't too far wrong IMHORedValiant wrote:upgrade time. don't know about AMD over intel. AMD's run hotter and are a bit slower I've heard.
