nice setup eagle, i managed to take 3+ seconds off my best time very easily... pity that still leaves me 9 secs off the pace with you guys but seeing as i was 15+ seconds off the pace at barcelona i will take it as an improvement.

Will see if i can take a few more seconds off over the next couple of nights then decide if i should race or not on Tuesday.

Of course you should race :p, need practise in the traffic as much as doing fast laps. You didn't get in anyone's way last week as far as I'm aware. You were certainly very easy to get past for me. _b

I think this is the most difficult track on the schedule. It is very technical and full of places to lose time. I have a love/hate feeling about Magny Cours because I like its mix of camber and slow/fast cnrs but it really needs rhythm to go fast and white guys have none.

Track guide for T1 anyone?

Im not saying this is best method. Riven and eagle may be able to point out my mistakes but it works for me....

Starting from the entry to the pit straight after exiting the final little chicane. Exit that chicane in a line straight towards the corner of the wall draped with the tricoleur and get on the gas asap. Maybe even as you pass that 2nd bollard. Accelerate in a straight line and then turn down the pit straight keeping close to the wall on the RH side. Go under the bridge and notice a red pole sticking up on the RH side. A Breath past that, lift and turn in blind to t1. Look carefully for the blacker lines on the road and as soon as you see them and can also see the curb on the LH side (which you should be heading for) hammer it! You should get up to 5th gear as you cross that curb and turn left... then drop straight down to 3rd, brake hard and turn right. You can go wide here as you turn and drop to 2nd for a late apex on the green curbing on the RH side. As soon as you can hammer it again over that curbing and keep accelerating HARD out onto the straight up to adelaide hairpin.

any use?

I watched an onboard lap of an F1 here in the GP and they are sooo fast through the long right onto the straight- right out onto the creen curb on the left. It's much harder and more dicey in the gts, very easy to drift wide and onto the curb and over it. I'm guessing that that is where a lot of the laptime is between the faster guys and most of the rest of us is to be found. The back two hairpins are real tricky too.

My current WIP setup for the race.

Currnetly my best is a 1:34.354, but the rears go off if you push it to get those times. Avg lap times are around the low 1:36's

I can drive Riven's a lot faster than mine for a short distance. Ass end gives up after a short while. I think I shall be looking for a compromise between his and mine tomorrow.

I did a 01:33.424 with Riven's and 6 laps of fuel. I can't keep it on the track much longer than that atm however :p

The missing bollards on the last section probably gained a couple of tenths.

For anyone having trouble with the piss poor interface of the points site.

1. You should be logged in. If your not then login with the details you've been pm'd.

If you change cars on any given week for a race you should then do the following to ensure we get an accurate points table after the race.

2. Click "Drivers".

3. Ignore step 3 it's just there to confuse you :p

4. Click the "edit data" link

5. Click "Cars".

6. Click "edit" next to your current car.

7. Change the car in box indicated by step 7.

8. Save the change with the save button.

I should try my setup without fuel in it then :O

Oh dear, I give up...

The lambo must be THE supercar for that track...

I certainly cant get anywhere near 33's no matter what fuel load.

Of course the 550 did feel exactly the same after 17 laps as it did at the start so maybe there's some hope. ;)

Certainly eagle was catching me during that stint last night, but I think if I hadnt have stuffed the pit stop (I hadnt organised the setup for no fuel at that stage) I mightve managed to hold out.

Should be an interesting race again... if I stay on the track of course.

low 36's will make you very very competitive, and should get you into the top 5. I think famin is driving a 550, and has dipped into the 34's

I've broken 1.40 only once, So I will rely on staying medium pace and ontrack, and hope to pick up places from those that take of track excursions, that and a clean pit stop, nearly worked very well in race two last week. :D

Had tonights race thread been started by me, you would know. ;)

20th Sep Magny Cours _ Pits stop _ 30mins _ 2 races

Pit window between lap 2 and lap 17.

You can tell how many laps the events will be by pumping the race time into your fuel setup in setup 1 in the garage :)

Please observe the white pit exit marking.

Failure to do so will incure a 30 second penalty. I know it can be hard to judge just where your wheels are, but it is for the benefit of all drivers so make the effort please.

Very tricky track.

Be extremely careful into Adelaide on the first lap, give your self plenty of room!

Good luck.

Also if you are changing car from last week, Please make sure you have changed it on the website above. Any probs with this yell out on Vent.

/slap. I said I was doing it, you heard me and you didn't say arrgh. All you had to do was say "arrgh rather than thinking it and I would have just called the thread M-C setups or something. That is after all why I said I was doing it

I will miss the race since I have military duty tonight, so rest assured you will not have to worry about passing me on the track tonight; even though I always make it easy for the fast guys.
