NASCAR Season 6

Post by Murphy's Law » Thu Sep 29, 2005 3:33 pm

What should we do for Season 6?

We have got 13 weeks before Xmas.

How many races do you want?

What tracks do you want to run?

and any other things that you would like to see change.

Murphy...I thought you said you were done racing when you moved to Aus a couple weeks back.

I see that you are still using an NZ IP though.

Either get your act together Murphy or sling your hook. Driving like a tard then attempting too pull the wool........

If your serious about racing with us, you need to get a decent connection. Yours is crap.
You are dangerous on the track.
So that with a crap connection makes for an unpleasant experience for others.

I dont wish to race with Liers and Arseholes, I have to work with them so I dont see why I should have to spend my personal time with them.

Get it together and act like a human _b

we need something to liven it up a little.
small ovals suck due to too many cars and not enough room to pass.
how about an easy/wide road track thrown in to mix it up.

some tracks we used last series have bugs or boring restrictors, should we be looking at other modded tracks that may be more suitable?

I'd be up for a trial over the next few wednesdays if anyone has a track they wish to test.
Why does KSR suck at FPS?

I've always thought - lets just race the same track twice. Daytona is a rather good track, it's good for drafting, not too big. and nice and wide.

If we race each track twice, we only have to find 4 tracks for season 6 >8p. Even if we just race a couple of tracks twice, that's less to choose from.

There are non restrictor plate versions of some of the superspeedways we could try :) and we an also have a look round at other tracks available that we havn't tried it :)

Im keen for Papyrus as a 'road course' :D

More importantly I would like someone to make a decent setup for each track, thats stable in the corners, doesent chew too much tyre and has usable brakes. Some of these setups we've had are terrible...

Agreed as in regards to some of the fixed setups being shocking, not everyone has the same wheel,or same wheel pedals configurations.

But we all drove them and some managed better than others. There is a challenge there when you have tyres going halfway through a fuel; you have to decide to try and same them and not run the dog piss out of them, so they will last. ;)

I agree totally Odie. The differing stratagies in these situations were what won and lost races. Made it very interesting and gave different driving styles different opportunities at each track.

Thats fair enough, but what I'm saying is some of the setups are particularly bad, especially with some of the 3rd party tracks where the car will bottom out occasionaly, and often have brake bias set over 75%. And other tracks the setup will be quite unstable causing alot of self spinning which doesent help anyone.. You may argue that people just need to practice more and learn to drive, but there will always be some that cant get to grips with a particular track on the default setups, and end up causing carnage for everyone.

Helping tyre wear isn't the main reason for me wanting better setups.

Maybe we could copy what the OWR league did and if we are testing a new track allow open setups, and then pick someones for the race.

Heh, nothing wrong with Papy :P

The other opinion I have is that if we have an enduro, 80% is long enough and it should be the last race of the season.. In fact if it came down to it I dont really care for the enduro at all..

Everyone wants something different :)

I like the full length enduro.

Papy, 8 bowl and a couple of others have nothing to do with Nascar and I wont run on them ever again. Just my opinion... do want you want, I will do what I want :D

I agree on a setup needing to be developed for each track. Having a stable setup doesn't necessarily mean you will get less tire wear anyway We just want something that's easier to control when the car gets a bit unbalanced.

Less dings means closer field which means better more exciting racing.

And the creator of the setup will already have a jump on how to manage the setup come race night :D

Yes and the setup will be better for the people whose driving style it suits than others. Better to stay with the one that is universally crap for everyone :p
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

yea unfortunately I have to agree with the setups, if someone makes a setup then its their opinion of whats easy to drive
Personally I have had no real problems with any of the setups, just have to drive to the setup rather than hammer it everywhere on some tracks...tyre wear excessive? well that just means you have to manage the way you drive to conserve tyres vs early and more frequent pit-stops

Can I suggest that we should make setup changes where it is obvious that they are needed. For example, brake bias. At Talledaga the brake bias was set at about the mid 70s% which is totally impractical. Most drivers would have had trouble with only one heavy brake application causing the front tyre indicators turning yellow. The brake bias should have been set in the mid 50s%.
But otherwise we should go with the defaults.
