Race one was a blinder!! So much fun there. Sweating and unable to swollow. Awesome.
Race two I got cut off and screwed the pooch, blew motor....got a tow....waited for 2min in pits too be told it was unfixable.
But thats racing!
Great track. Good for the driving skills and 2.5 sec faster on that track than I was last season. Personal best there was 50.xx now its 47.8 so Its all good.

Apologies where due, and there are more than a couple this week.
i was driving like somebodies granny.
special mention... who ever i dropped in on (literaly) after the lag-out.
hope i didnt spoil yer race.
thanks where owed, especially the gentleman, faster than i...
yet a lap or two down, he moved over under brakes and let me through
so that i could battle my position effectively. thanks mate
its a sweet little goattrack when ya get a rythm going.

I a second bazzils's comment. Lapped drivers were VERY courteous, as long as I was careful in passing there was no problem.
I mistook the 1 lap to go flag as the chequer in race 1 and 'let' (ha!) my team leader past thinking id just pipped him to 5th, but I suspect it wouldnt have mattered anyway.
race 2 I had 2 small dings (not worth protests at all) and lost out to a charging yet very quiet Riven again for 5th.
I felt that once you got in a rhythm the track was very nice. Nice cambers to corners and easy to cruise round in 48's when not in a pack.
Is Shane scoring points as a guest driver?
Note to self: must go harder in first couple of laps next week.

Race 1 was ok, lost touch with the leaders, then found myself somehow in 1st.. kept on racing, only to lose my concentration later on, and allow Shane and Happy back through
Race 2 was a disaster, on the pace lap my engine died, well sort of died, my soundcard decided it didnt want to play any engine sounds at all, and I tell you, its extremely hard to control a powerslide without an engine note, let alone picking the right times to shift up/down. Also managed to get involved in crashes that started in front of me coming down the hill and twice was spun to the outside facing the wrong way, had to wiat for about 10-12secs each time to turn around without being collected myself.
Ah well, onto the next track.
DuD gained 4 points on incredibles this week, and with one of our best drivers only scoring 2 points from both rounds.

Well I was the unlucky fool being in the wrong place at the wrong time who took out Mr Wood in race 1. Too fast, spun, lost control, and wiped him out. As mortified as I was, I seriously considered dropping out of race 2, as I thought I would be just a danger to everyone else.
But decided to give it a go. Got spun somewhere on the back straight and stopped at the apex of the corner. Timing is showing me a gaggle of cars bearing down very, very quickly.
Decision time - stay where you are ? Or try to move ? Decided to stay, and watched cars zip past me. Phew I thought, I made the right deicision. Then BOOM ! A spectacular t bone
I most humbly apologise for all drivers in this league, that despite a lot of practise I simply wasn't up to the quality of driving required.

couple of questions for monday :}
- will the next race be the default Nascar2003 Watkins Glen Int. track?
- on race day I can't change my fuel at all, but shouldn't I be able to burn it off on the track and then fill it up if I desire?
My qualify setup (rather optimistically set for 3 laps/fuel ) always gets defaulted to more fuel than I would like, which sucks when the car is set up for far less fuel load.
All I wanna know is "is this unavoidable?", so I can start altering my setups to suit more fuel.
cheers

Starting fuel for any session, be it prac, qual or race is always set to 22 gallons, a full tank. You cannot avoid this.cap'n wrote:couple of questions for monday :}

famin wrote:but you can of course pit and refuel any time using the F3 key and space bar to change how much fuel you want... but would you have done that in those frenetic 35 laps?

if you have a momo limbo then I suggest the logitech wingman profiler and setting up the buttons is a MUST!
I have
Button 1 (top left): personal lap time
Button 2 (top right): leader board (space toggles the display from absolute times to times between)
Button 3 (centre left): Tyre wear
Button 4 (centre right): Tyre temps (CRUCIAL)
Button 5 (bottom left): Fuel
Button 6 (bottom right): repairs
I use the gear stick for changing gear and the LH paddle for a clutch. The RH paddle is for the pit out display.

yeah got a momo.
Button 1 (top left): fuel. tyre temps. tyre wear (toggles)
Button 2 (top right): leader board .space. toggles off the button then.
Button 3 (centre left): SORRY (the most used one, lol jk)
Button 4 (centre right): clutch
Button 5 (bottom left): look left
Button 6 (bottom right): look right
I use the gear stick for pit entry/exit messages and the LH paddle for a downshift The RH paddle is for the upshift.
i will give yours a go. providing there is no copyright/patents/intellectual ownership.
and i have all the needed permissions. ;P
actually thinking of modifying/haxoring a keyboard to suit then running a splitter to use both k/boards at the sime time. (one 'gaffed' to the aforesaid momo)
i think it will be needed for sandown in september.
but the paddle would give me a analogue clutch eh? good idea ... burnouts galore.
