Leagues?
Ok Guys...by the time the New Year comes around everyone should have GT Legends and rFactor. (I don't have it yet but can easily get it)
What leagues are we gonna run?
I have heard people wanting a league with GT Legends, V8's for rFactor, sprint cars, open wheelers etc....what is everybody wanting?
I'm easy any which way but I need to know so I can practise lots.

as long as its road racing Im in...
My picks would be..
rFactor - V8's (when is this due?)
rFactor - FNippon (almost a must have)
I note theres a new F3 V 2.0 mod due very soon too.
GTLegends - have to decide a car set and everyone will have to have unlocked the car they need!
(unless we all agree to use the cheat to get them)
and as a backup
GTR NGT league again with BMWs Trofeos and TVRs added in.

Re: GT Legends.
I think it would be a good idea (and a lot of fun!) to start with a TC-65 season.
- The cars are very easily unlocked, don't have to cheat.
- The cars are fun!
- They're easy to learn.
- They're not uber-HP "ewok on speeder-bike" beasties, they're just good fun cars to throw around.
- Any netcode issues will be reduced in effect by the lower speeds, a good testbed for working them out.
- It makes it more accessable for "noobies" and "I don't play all the time" players.
- etc etc

There are only so many nights in a week that we can all possibly race. The leagues should be based upon a style of racing which could be listed as:
Road Racing
Oval (Nascar style)
Dirt
If you are going to run two types of any style then it should be run on the same night. For example if stockcars and sprint cars are the popular "Dirt" style then they should both be run on the same night and if you wish to run Open wheelers and say the T-65's then run them on the same night or combine rfactor Nascar (ovals) which is normally a fairly long event with something that is short, i.e. some sort of road course sprint race.
The most popular style of racing has been Dirt and Ovals followed by road racing, although road racing is slowly getting there with better Sims available these days it still only attracts and keeps a minority hard core and we need to keep that in mind before rushing into organising leagues that hardly anyone turns up to. The point is that we need to see what everyone wants to play and try and fit them into a limited amount of days in a week, after all some people like to play other games as well and some people even have families. Running some leagues alternately i.e. one one style one week and another the other so they run once a fortnight effectively. Also consider running two types of racing as one league for example running a stockcar and sprint car league, running both on the same night or alternate weeks with the points all going to the same league. Although this is more viable with road racing as the numbers are so limited and easy to combine.
Anyway, much to think about and we can see what other ideas people have before rushing in.

Does GTL still have the same banger login issues that GTR has? cause if it does, that could be a dud for a league.
We've been playing a spot of LFS2, and that is rather good. A league of the MRT cars (the go-kart style cars with the motor bike engines) would be my choice, good dings, very amusing and they are easy enough to drive that almost anyone could play
Only problem is buying the game, but it's fairly cheap anyway.

OK...How do we start a list of games/mods etc that we could all vote on?
I'm free most nights except Wednesdays. Tuesdays have been good for me but we need to find out what everybody wants.
(Hmmmm...note in diary....purchase rFactor!)

Do it, youll love the F3's. Online play is stella. You can bump wheels with ppl from all over the world with no real issues. Best ive seen. I just cant read Italian.......Dont know what they are blabing on about........
Lovely Graphics and great frame rates, Sounds a little average at times, mainly due to some crappy sampling. Feels a little floaty at first, but that goes away after a while and you start to get some real feel going on.
Do it.
Do it now while the dollar is Good
(Not sure which dollar you want to use)

Thats the wonderful thing about the TC65 cars in GTL, their setup options are veryvery limited, so there is no real setup changes to make, and the defaults are pretty much bang on anyhow... I have set some world top 10 times with the default setupsWraith wrote:Nascar (whatever game)

Stockcar teams!!!!!!!!
Road racing takes up too much time in setups, practise for me
I soooo can't wait for the dirt mods for rfactor.

OK....It seems to me that people are keen to do GTL and something with rFactor.
We could hold two seperate leagues on two different nights - hopefully that will keep everybody happy as I'm sure everybody has a life outside of sim racing.
I propose we do GT Legends on a Tuesday night and rFactor on...say a Thursday night and Sunday night (If we are doing two mods). What do you all think?
