NZNL Season 7 - Team Format

Post by TonyG » Fri Dec 23, 2005 3:44 pm

There has been some discussion on whether to change the team format for Season 7 of the InSPire league.
The committee decision is to leave the Team Format at max. 4 drivers per team with a couple of amendments to the rules added to confirm the substitution and point rules for teams.

The last paragraph of rule 4 will read
Any driver who has hardware/PC failure during practice or qualifying will score points of position after last place.
Any driver who has a legitimate reason for not being able to race on a race evening and has informed the committee of this reason shall be awarded points of position after last place.
9. Team Format

Teams are restricted to a maximum of 4 drivers.

Should a team driver be unavailable to race for his Team for two or more races then the Team Captain can apply to the committee for a substitute driver to take his place, this driver will then earn points for the Team.
Each application will (or will not) be approved on it's own merits and individual circumstances.

Applications must be submitted to nznascar_admin@simracerhq.co.nz

An application will be approved for the following: multiple work commitments and computer or connection malfunctions.

An application will NOT be approved for the following: an evening at the pub, an evening at a sporting event or if just not doing well in the series etc.

For last minute emergency substitutions, approval may be granted by the committee over Ventrilo before the race begins.

The Team Captain must announce the new driver in the appropriate forum thread AFTER he has been given permission (this is so that all drivers know exactly who is driving for the team)

This rule should not be taken as an invitation for a team that may be low on points to bring in a "ringer" to improve their standing in the points table, such an attitude may result in all Team points being disallowed.

As always, honesty and fair play will prevail.
