GPL 69 Server - Thursday 5th
A GPL69 server is up and running tonight - but with strictly limited numbers.
IP: 203.114.179.9
I'll be on Ventrillo in the Racing Sims channel if you want to talk (although it can be hard to hear over the engines lol).
We'll probably limit it to 4 clients. Sorry but that's about all 128 up with voice can support... so if you miss out I'm really sorry there's not much I can do.
Heck before I even post this we have
Monza
Famin
Chequers
Gareth
all in. Don't think we can take more than that......

Growler took off , famin moved into 2nd when Monza lost it and eventually Growler lost it at the hairpin..
He then chased down famin and retook the lead at the end of the long back straight..
Turned the corner and BLOWIE!!! cries of anguish over ventrillo...

re the pic above, I nailed one of my best starts ever, and got the jump of both Famin and Growler. Lost it at the hairpin though...famin wrote:screenies from race2 - Rouen

and Pat tried hard too till he lost it near the ambulance, recovered, forgot about the dirty tyres and lost it again onto the front straight... with predictable consequences, giving famin a late race obstacle to avoid.

bloody good fun... no punting or mad lunges , just good racing.
sorry about gregory dropping out in race 2. Hope you got a race 3 tho?
A bigger pipe to an Inspire server would be very welcome.
Note that High wing settings might add drag but they give the controllability that aids the close racing. I used 10/8 at Rouen and it was very controllable.
and for those not as yet participating, just using a 67 setup is asking for trouble as for a start the wings increase downforce meaning the springs have to be strengthened straight away, especially in the front else youll be on the bump stops half the time.
Many Thanks to X20 for the server!!!

Yes Famin...that was a very good race.
It took me 3 laps to catch you and do a very late brake into that last corner! I was trying so hard to get traction just to keep in front of you!
AND...to add to the imbarassment of blowing the engine...I coasted into the pits and escaped...COMPLETELY forgetting about shift R!!!
Yes...more people would be good!
This mod has put life back into GPL. (And here I was contemplating uninstalling it) I have to re learn my braking points, remember to lift off the throttle after every shift....
Growler.

Server down now. We ran a bit of practice and a race at Monza.
And to think - I was locked out of my own server for the Rouen race cause it was full!!! Hahahaha.
Might grab a few snaps from the replays over the weekend. Thanks to everyone who participated - and kudos to everyone for some most considerate racing.
If anyone has a non pribluda gpl69w.exe - maybe we could get that emailed to Riven. Might save him a reinstall as the gpl zip I sent him seems to be causing problems with D3D.
