I've never come across such an anal group of pansies in a racing game (except Deerism, he's a choice fella).
Banned, and I never even made the first race.

Re: GTL League
You had a lot of complaints about you in your first showing. (hence the banning) If you would like to race in this series you have to prove your not going to play silly buggers and race properly.APESHIT wrote:Well, thanks a lot.Liquid wrote:APESHIT (now banned from this Series)

And yes we take our sim racing seriously, Also Remember GTL is a sim not an arcade racer.
Any person found wrecking the enjoyment of others will be banned.

Re: GTL League
Anal??? Accept it. Most other groups would have kicked you without even acknowledging there was a problem. I'm sure, as mentioned elsewhere that if you could prove you can drive properly as per online racing etiquette you would be accepted back in. Up to you really.APESHIT wrote:Well, thanks a lot.Liquid wrote:APESHIT (now banned from this Series)

Going by what I saw of GTL's net code last night, I expect he didn't actually see any of that chat. Particularly since all the people on ventrilo who started on the wrong peice of track where the ones saying they couldn't see the vote..
Of course not knowing what was going on does not excuse parking on the track and specifically getting in others way, whether its practice, qualifying or race..
For sure he's welcome to a second chance to race properly, but the first sign of being a fucktard he will be banned. This is not Need For Speed proper racing ettiquite is required.

So to recap on the night:
Didnt start off to well (i had major internet problems anyway so i cant say if it was the game or at my end)
We have now Password locked the Server for Tuesday racing. I hope last night didnt put anyone off.
Lets give next Tuesday a good showing and see if we have any problems, remember its only a 5 race series.
That last race was a cracker (with no problems)
PS: Can evryone make sure to have Data Rate set to ISDN.
Thanks
And big thanks for riven for locking server down and fixing server for us so fast last night.
See you all next Tuesday when the real fun begins.

A great nights practice and racing. I had heaps of fun and really enjoyed the little battles I had with different people during the races. Good to see some new people along and some of their times were very impressive.
I guess that some of them were not aware that this was a reasonably serious practice leading up to the first race of a league which starts next week judging by the antics going on both during the practice and racing. Obviously there was some issues with the race start with some people being thrown outside of the track etc, but for those on Ventrilo it was not so much of an issue because they were aware that there was a server related problem and that some were still able to race so they waited till we rebooted the server and went back to joining by direct IP to try and resolve the problem.
So for the new guys, we highly recommend you use Ventrilo not only during the racing, but for general discussion about what is going on/changing between races etc. During practice and racing, especially for our leagues, we take our racing seriously and basically stick to rules of common courtesy and accepted online racing etiquette (thanks for that term Growler). We are not always old stick in the mud types and we often have lots of fun races as well, where we take the "rubbings racing" saying to the limit and often beyond. I guess once you get to know us we are not a bad bunch of guys really, we were a bit blown away by (one guy only) turning up and causing mayhem after being invited to a league server practice run, hence the reactions in this thread so far.
The other guys who turned up were well behaved and put in some great lap times during practice and as I mentioned earlier, Scrunty and I had a great battle over the last few laps of race 1 which I really enjoyed. It would be great to see you guys join us for the league and also note we race rFactor, NZ Stockcars and we have NZ's biggest and best Nascar league every Wednesday night.
Roll on week 1 and the Falcons.

I know many of you are upset - but could we please give Apeshit another chance, he is used to racing among a different crowd of people (with his usual bunch of expeditive say binds!) I'm sure if we can put this mass of anger behind us he will make a great addition to the racing (now that he knows to not touch his binds )
As for the racing I'm sorry I didn't make the 2nd race but I'm still keen to start into the series next week (although I've got a fair bit of single player to make up on so I can buy all the required cars... I've only got the mustang and escort so far)
Inspector mate I look forward to a few battles with you again, I think I passed you twice and you passed me back twice within the last three laps last night! (I even managed to drift past you on the inside of the sweeper! - by mistake but it looked cool from my screen )
I'll make sure I'm on Vent next week - and just wondering why the rates need to be on isdn? Is that so the server doesn't get pounded? (I'm on 2Mbit cable so I usually use cable/adsl rates)

Sorry for the double post here, I'll delete this once it serves its purpose.
Is the Motor racing leagues thread going to be updated any time soon?
For example this league here is not listed and the above mentioned rfactor racing for which I can't find a thread (I do have rfactor and have got the ppc mod aswell which I'm keen to race)

Its up to Apeshit (gotta change that name) if he would like to continue in the series. As we have said in the last posts.
As to ISDN , its a bit of both we have found you get very good performance with no lag by setting it to ISDN and the server dont go through mega bandwidth. (most of us in NZ only get 128k up any way) We also had problems with Running our GTR series when everyone set data rate to ADSL and things went heaps better when set to ISDN.
Fell free to join Series Scrunty.Welcome aboard and its good to see new people racing.

With regard to the cars, we are only using the TC65 cars for this first series, which are all pretty cheap. Also note that you can sell cars for exactly what you paid for them to buy something else, so you should be able to afford all of the cars you need
There are no league races for rFactor currently, but quite a few or us jump on the server quite often for some short races. Usually we will post here if we are trying to get people on the server, otherwise just jump on ventrilo and see who's in the rFactor channel
Also in regards to the ISDN setting, with the GTR leagues we have been racing we found everything to be much more stable when everyone was using ISDN as compared to ADSL. Simbin are not known for their great netcode so anything that helps is good

re
From what I saw and read apeshit was all over the place taking some cars out when he tookk a car out he typed in capital letters a string of f words and threats to get the car back that he had taken out and wreck it
I havent seen this sort of rubbish since the time of being on the sierra servers with nascar 2003 where all the americans were threating each other and each others families with shotguns etc because of a little accident or bad driving lol

I missed all the typing and the abuse. So i cant comment, but this will not be accepted.(unless its at inspector for his bad driving...haha...joking)
Every one gets heated and gets a bit of road rage once and awhile.
Its up to most poeple here whether they are happy to give him another go or not. Everyone makes mistakes (me included).

The discussion before and after the racing is what I enjoy most I think. I get the impression that Apeshit (you definitely need a new nick my man) comes from a more NFS style of racing (as many of us have) and he just didn't realise what was expected in this community.
I say give him a fair chance by letting him know what we expect, and when he has found his spot in this group he will be fine. Simply we are a community mostly interested in SIM racing, not ARCADE racing. If you are interested in this style of racing then join in and listen and learn. We play other games and throw plenty of abuse etc at each other both in the forums and on the track, but most of us know each other and know the time and the place and most importantly, the limits. I guess you overstepped the mark before you knew any of the above so it is totally up to you if you want to start again.

You can all drop dead if you think i'm changing my name. If you're offended by this name (my proper nickname), I can only imagine how much you'd be crying about my usual name.
"F*CKFACE I WILL BEAT YOU" is my catch phrase, and after you all cried like children 'OMG THE BAD MAN SWEAREDED AT US', I rebound my catchphrase of many years in Live For Speed to 'I'M GOING TO KILL YOU' and you still are crying about it, thinking I actually meant it.
You all make me out to sound like a race wrecker, when in fact I could not see what was going on, nor get an answer out of anyone, for all I knew I was on my own with the 5 in the scenery. If anyone deserves an apology it should be me, but I realise this is JUST A GAME, which some of you need to realise.
I don't care if I fit into your community or participate in your circle-jerks, but I did want to have a decent race and some good laughs, which I failed to get last night at the PRACTISE.
It's up to the majority as to whether I will be seen in your league. If not, perhaps I will hold my own league with people who can manage a good race and some light-hearted fun.
PS Don't assume anything Inspector, i've played most racing games, the NFS series only being one of them.

You really don't get it, do you Apeshit?
We have every right to ask and expect a decent level of behaviour from everyone participating in a league, or even on the server in general.
And when someone starts misbehaving and is told to stop, we have every right to expect that person to stop.
Instead of bowling in, wreaking havoc and being an asshole all night in spite of what you were being told, you could have calmed down and waited for an answer, like the other 4 drivers did.
While I'm sure we all understand (& remember) the impatience and arrogance of a 16 yr old, we have people younger than that in our leagues that are 100% more well-behaved. And the rest of us may get loud when things happen, but we don't go "apeshit" and try to ruin everyone else's night because of anything that happens. It's not exactly hard to behave in a reasonable manner.
But you've obviously made your choice...I don't care if I fit into your community or participate in your circle-jerks...

I dont have GTL (planning too) but ive played a similar game (LFS S2) for a long time so I know about these sort of issues. I cant belive you are blaming APESHIT for techinical issues like that. What would you do if you keep regenerating onto the track with a wrecked car and wouldnt be able to move. Yes, its easier just to blame and ban him.
Oh cmon, it would just been easier to restart the event (which it wasnt even one of your proper rounds, just a practise event). You guys take it too seriously, APESHIT (on LFS) is one of the enjoyable people to play racing with.
Let him just dam well race.

Thats not the case at all...
Sure it was a technical issue that caused him to start off the side of the track, but once he managed to get on the track, he proceeded to sit at the exit of one of the corners, right on the racing line doing donuts.. when I came around the corner and could't avoid him, his response went something like "HhahahaHAhashashAHAHAHaHAh". Then a couple of laps later he drove further down the back straight and parked sideways on the track moving back and forth and took out the race leader. Then he moved onto the last blind chicane and parked right on the racing line, and each time he got hit out of the way he moved back on to the line.
I have the replay if anyone would like to create a small video..
By the way, I am quite happy to give him another chance, but his 'driving' was not caused by a 'technical' issue..

You're confusing the race with the 50 min Practise session. I was actually rammed into the wall deliberately by someone named H. Costa or something like that and took it in good spirits by laughing at him, but in the PRACTISE SESSION, yes I did sit in that chicane deliberately, since i'd already been smashed there myself, I thought a pileup would be great comedy.Bold wrote:Thats not the case at all...

However, my attitude when it comes to racing is completely different.
The seriousness in which you take a PRACTISE session is absolutely unreal, and it would seem 'fun' isn't an option.
