This is being written pretty early in the morning but I assume nothing will change before tonight.

As posted in another thread Riven has to be away from palmy tonight (something about thrashing Lucinda, whoever she is..!?) and thus there wont be a server available.

Therefore the start is postponed 1 week.

On the good side is that I have managed to get a dedicated server going to Rivens specs on my PC and its all zipped and ready to be sent up to him (about 100Mb) asap.

Sorry Famin, I won't be able to make the start of the league as I'm moving flat this weekend and am yet to convince my three female flatmates that we need DSL. If I am allowed to join in later that would be great otherwise Bold can take my place.

do you realise that GPL on-line works over dial-up modem? You need to limit the numbers of cars that the server is sending you data for (in my case 7 cars = the 7 closest to me on the track), and throttle back your modem to get a steady connection. See this RSC thread

Thanks mate, I bought GPL when it came out in '98 so well aware of it's ability to run over dial-up.
