keep an eye on the forum or vent over the weekend danman. We might have a few test servers up for 4 - 5 people. (at jarama)

Thanks once more the those who joined last night after a bit of a shaky start.

I think filling out the field with top AI drivers was a good idea too. agreed? but we hope to see ALL the signees next week? (only Danman and Monza missing btw)

The pic is what the capn saw (thats me ahead!!!) on lap 8

That was me I'm afraid. From what I can see from the limited replay I wandered into your path and wheels tangled. My fault. Sorry. :o

Hey...Seriously it was not a problem. That was the last of my worries. I was catching a Brabham while someone in a McLaren was hounding me from behind (Second thoughts....that sounds a bit dodgy!) and I must have stopped breathing for 10 minutes!
Good racing by all...

Out of interest, if you don't have any of the tracks listed you should be able to find them here. http://gpltd.bcsims.com/
The original track database from a few years ago seems to have gone.

Man that was fun. Missed the GPL-adrenaline, hehehe.
No worries on the practise server, glad I could help. Actually, at some point I wouldn't mind seeing how many people my machine can handle at once, if anyone's interested.
BTW, can someone post a working link to the GPL Digital Display mod? Can't find it to save my life.

Here is the traffic graph from my router at home during the race.

Original TCP settings in GPL
8 AI
11 Humans (server takes 1, but is local traffic, and not racing)

Outbound Peak = 219.89kbit/s
Inbound Peak = 146.64kbit/s

I suggest that someone should test the AI on the non-original GPL tracks, as they might be a menace. Also I recommend we only have 4 AI next time, which allows 14 players to join (15 if I race as the server)

I can test Jarama tonight. I'll just set it up and let it run for a while

Ive run Jarama with AI. theyre a bit slow in some corners but fine.

the major worry is that they stop near the end of the race as they run out of fuel but i think thats Ok. It would be a good boost to the RL drivers at that point.

re the stats Riven, are you saying its too much traffic or what?

Is there a limit of 18 drivers? In which case, yes we would have to limit AI to just top up the numbers. We only have 14 registered anyway and that the RL limit.

Awesome, thanks Gareth... I was looking there but in the Utilities section and their link was dead.
So, ran a full grid of AI at Jarama just now, and there were a few mishaps, but nothing major. The disturbing thing was the graphics, tho... parts of the track would randomly disappear (driving on air) or disappear/reappear/disappear.

No, its not too much at all... was just pointing out what was used, as Diseased was wondering how many his PC would cope with.

The GPL player limit is 19.
So:-
1 for the server (includes me if I choose to race)
4 for AI
14 Humans

and thnx for that Riven, you had me worried for a millisec.
