SimTV's coverage of CTS Race 3 . . .

Post by Prometheus » Fri Feb 11, 2005 8:45 pm

. . . is now uploaded and will be released to you rabble very soon at simracerhq.

The Texas Nascar Massacre runs for 6'10", and is done in a slightly different style this time. It's 68mb in size, 640x480 at 25 frames per second.

The video is encoded at the lower res of 1.5mbps this time in an effort to keep file size down. A 3mbps version came out at 145mb, which is still smaller the the original uncompressed version of 8.3gb.

Chocolate fish will be emailed to the 1st correct posting naming the artist, album and year it was released of the voice over.

Hopefully the Aussies won't view this video - it's not exactly a glowing representation of quality driving O_o

LOL ! very funny vid that I knew the dings would make it well worth watching.

One thing I notice, is noone slows down for the dings :)
and alot of people drive straight up the back of another driver because they can't break in time instead of changing their line to go around the other driver.
Boom Boom !
If ya don't know what to do, Don't ask Snake Wogers, he's got no idea.

It almost became tedious recording the crashes ! There were so many. I still left out a few of them, esp single spins, etc. Otherwise the video would run to hours, not minutes.

Remeber, your foot hinges at the ankle. :)

One more thing, where's the rusty chainsaw prom? How can you have the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' without a rusty chainsaw?? ;p
Brake on the straight before it's too late.

Its not always that easy Bazz, when you are going flat out and see a crash some times you dont have enough time to do much, and it not like you can just slam the brakes on and stop on a dim.

There is a fine line, you have to balance slowing enough to pick your way through the carnage, but no too much giving people behind you enough time to react to your car slowing down if for what ever reason they haven't seen the ding ahead. :)

Some very poor driving in there I must say!!!!!! :Puke:
A couple of cars feature often. O_o
A couple of other feature just as often, but that is more due to bad luck. :)

Onwards and upwards (if your in team scrumpy its definatly up.... talk about big air :) )

Hopefully not too much higher !

Interestingly, the physics of the game stopped the 666 Scrumpy car going any higher - it's almost as if there's a height cone over the track.

Anyway, TV3 at 8.30pm - Battlestar Gallactica the mini series _b _b It ain't got Lorne Green.

Love the start with the voice over Prom. Great stuff.
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Grrrrrrrr! :ffs:

Prom, whoever at TV3 pulled the plug on the golf during the play off hole needs a damn good kicking. q- That's TVNZ behaviour and it's not on. Especially not for a weekend news show.

Unhappy of Manukau.

Sorry to go OT

No prob, I was sitting in the control room, sweating profusely, with 3 phones ringing all the time and lots of tantrums (one of the rare weekends I've worked in a while).

IT WAS NOT ME ! I was only following orders ! Yeah, I know that defence didn't work for the Germans too.

My lips are sealed (due to the cough usual contract clauses). But someone whose job it is to make decisions, made the decision. I'm the (un)lucky guy who gets to implement them. D:

We then had a bit of a juggle timing the news to be able to cross back to the final moments of the shootout, but got there in the end.

But thanks to that, when I came home last night, I had to visit a bottle of wine rather than race in the Sports Car League ;(

Otherwise the racing would've looked a lot like the Texas Nascar Massacre - :ffs: get out of my way !!!! - which wouldn't have been very nice.

Lol. It pretty much seemed to end that way anyway with a 1/3rd of the field DNF'ing

Ahem ! :D I don't throw tantrums, I just forcefully suggest to people where they have gone wrong in the decision making process, and the direction they need to take, with great haste.
