If you also look at the replay I had a wee moment on lap one after Stavelot I think where I had just missed one house and drifted past the neighbours! Very Funny.

Growler.

thnx for all the comments. ive been having a bit of browser truble so havnt been able to check since yesterday (not to mention being worked hard at work!).

Lonely race for me too. I personally was very worried it was me caused the T1 off as i seemed to get away a bit better than Transit who disappeared and I could see the other two in front so took normal line thru eau rouge and whammo!!! After watching the replay I did move over to the right of the black line, probably to get the drift under the line and this squeezed Transit causing the prang. Transit then speared into Pat who was catapulted off the track!
Then I saw carnage after Malmedy as i headed towards the masta kink and managed to thread thru it. Not sure who had hit whom or if AI was involved.

Later I saw pat leave, didnt know it was a disco and so i just plodded on. The only interest was catching Growler (a LOOONG HARD chase) and eventually getting past when he tossed it away at radillion (up the hill after eau rouge). then I had to catch Rindt and from there it was dispiriting watching the gap to x20 ever so slowly growing. In fact had I not tossed it away at T1 I would guess Id be pretty close to him at the end but still behind for sure!!!

Now what I want to know is where are all the other drivers who signed up!!! eh? Where! You dont want Unbounds prophecy to come true do you?

If you dont intend driving ever again in this series Id appreciate a PM or an email and Ill scout out a few others (even open the roster again!). The racing is very cool. The mod and physics are GREAT! Come on show up if you can please.

I looking at you gojack, valik, vandem and Marty. (Im assuming diseased had a problem and I know Monza is keen but waiting for the hardware).

Next week should see pinotnoir (aka Keith Findlay) back who won Jarama. that should give X20 and capn some competition!

the pic is of the start which looks pretty impressive if I do say so!

points are collated in the results page of the site. X20 has a good lead over the Cap'n

Zandvoort next, a sandy but very well known track. At least driving there wont be so lonely!

God I felt for X20's shoulders and back, MINE were aching after that Spa marathon! hmmm must get in shape for the Nurburgring!!! :) O_o

Woohoo !!! I've got a point :)
On the board as it were...
is it for the fastest lap ala A1GP ?

and thanks for the kind apraisal of my contribution to the T1 'coming together' In future if I get a good grid position I will go for it rather than hang about like that...

cheers
Pete

How many laps is Zandvoort going to be ?
after the wheel overheat at Spa I'm a bit nervous , lots more work at Zany...
I might have to fit a fan to the sucker !

first 6 places get points (as in actual 1968) ie: 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1

Zandvoort is 27 laps (eek!) and plus of course the 30 - 40% fuel addition means youd put in about 36 - 37 laps worth of fuel.

:D

a rough matra setup for zandvoort. Seems ok, but rear may get hot if you slide a lot. More rear wing should stop the sliding, but where's the fun in that? Was using with wings 10front 6rear. It's a start, anyway. Hope it helps.

Just a wee suggestion.
If anyone has a setup to share and intends to post it on the forum please include the wing settings.
I've been doing some testing in the Matra and have been making steady improvements using a Gregor Hutu setup with high wing settings and then progressively decreasing the wings. I'm currently at 13/23 and my time is down to 1.23.60. :)

This was posted before I read your post cap'n

I dont count the AI drivers for points Transit. So you were the 6th place RL driver. Hence the point.

and thnx for the setup Capn.. Ill post it on the track guide tonight as well..

I just finished watching the race, and I was very impressed by the winning drive.
Boring race for a spectator I must say, but a great drive at the front.

Well done. :)
