Yeah, it's a high risk track if you want to go balls out the entire race. Those walls are not to forgiving :larf:

To say I was gutted is an understatement! :ffs: :ffs: :ffs: :ffs:

Unfinished business with Bathurst.

Had a car that drove well and would be competitive, but scraped the wall in the opening lap and blew a tire. Choose not to repair damage and when I turned a slight corner the car hit the wall and panels jumped of the car in panic... >:[

My night was a bit similar, but more drawn out. Hit the wall at Forest elbow on lap 9 or 10, pitted for new tyres and to repair damage, and then realized about 10 laps later that I should have filled the tank up to last to the end. So with 20 mins left to race I was fiddling with my fuel settings/fuel to add while going over skyline and smacked the wall again.
I limped back to the pits but the pitstop wouldn't start. I then noticed that I had no front wheel. Bugger :D

Hooray a mid pack finish. 1 goal complete. My first enduro, which was good. Really enjoyed it. Thought that if I stayed steady and kept off the walls I would finish pretty well despite my pace.

Was surprised by the maths challenge. After the pit stops tml was behind and gaining at a rate. Had to calculate time remaining, laps to do and how quickly he was closing. Bit of management it came close to the last corner. Good consistent pressure tml. How hard did you push that last lap?

Me too BK! :ffs:
Holding an easy 3rd with 10 mins to go and the dipper got me! So disappointed, was looking forward to what was looking like my first good result in an enduro.

Well done Rifty, looks like you were the only one to not make any big mistakes (and kept up a hell of a pace all the way!)

Cheers Vlad.

No damage other than 2 or 3 slight rubs against a wall, but no big mistakes. No visable damage on the car, quite a surprise really :I
I planned to run in the mid 9s, but the car felt great and could run in the mid to high 8s. Had a couple of 9's and a 10 due to traffic, and a single 7 thrown in the mix (fluked that one)

When I pitted I thought I had thrown it all away. Forgot to turn off damage (one wall rub at that stage) and misread the pit times in a absolute panic.
Thought I had 63 seconds of damage alone + 30sec of fuel and tyres. Turns out it was 63sec in total, doh!

I was convinced the 34sec lead I had on Hugh pre his pit was all gone. Came out with a 17sec gap, which was a relief. That soon dropped to 14sec quickly as the engine temp warning was on as I was leaving the pit box. Smoke out the back and the engine life dropping slowly. As I pulled out of pitlane and headed up mountain straight the engine life dropped faster so I had to coast a bit and then short shift to cool it down. Could have been the end right there!

Overall a very constant race, but a lonely one. Kept myself motivated by managing (trying to keep it) the gap back to Hugh.

First time I've completed Bathurst with no real Damage, usually I'm bouncing off the walls ;p
