What a fantastic race night...

Its was great to see new faces and some old ones too. Welcome to Steve and Eric.

Race 1 I stuffed up my brake bias and carried damage that affected the car throughout the race.

Race 2 was much better and I had a ball battling with Aston (welcome back) while trying to catch Tml, and Steve just behind all that.
I pitted lap 10 and came out with clear track and managed to get in to 5th by the time everyone else had pitted... then a wall jumped out and blew my tire up!

Still an enjoyable night.

Race 1, managed to grab 2nd place off a spining Rifty :smokin:
Had Zimmie just in front or just behind all race so had to push all race.

Race 2, stuffed up the start, couldn't see the start lights so was going of the race time....but ended up bogging it down badly....thought I had got away with it but turns out I caused poor Maniak to take evassive action into a wall.. :sorry: sorry Maniak :shy:

Pretty poor two races for me, kept making small mistakes.

Also my apologies to Steve, for contact in the second race. I thought I was clear when I pulled out because I could see the entire front of your car in my rear-view, but about half your car was alongside me. I know for future now that the rear-views are not to be trusted. I guess it's true: objects in the rear-view mirror may be closer than they appear. Again, my apologies.

No worries mate,

It was all very innocent & falls underm the "That's Racing!" category.

I enjoyed myself immensely & was happy to have finished 5th in both races, especially starting way back in the grid.

Also, it's fantastic to be finished racing well before midnight!!!

This is one of the reasons I've stopped racing at some Aussie communities. The time difference is a killer on a school night.

Racing at TTR normally finished around 11.30pm. I have seen you playing BF4 well after that!
ORA however is another story. I am normally finish racing around 1.30am with these Sports Sedans...

I did say some. Not all ;p

You're right about ORA though, damn they finish late for us Kiwis.
The difference between playing BF4 and racing for me, is that when I'm done in BF4 I can always hit the sack and fall asleep easy. After racing I'm always wired and it takes ages to get to sleep >_<

The Bathurst race was the worst recently. After an epic race and fluking the win and not once coming off or damaging the car (other than a couple of slight rubs) I was buzzing.
Just couldn't get to sleep for ages!

Racing is way more exciting :D _b

Hear hear Rifty! I havn't really done any serious gaming since I was a kid (think Doom 2 and Quake!) and never thought I would get into it like have with online league racing!
I think what makes it so cool, is that except for the physical g forces, it is so damn close to the real thing with the technology these days and only going to get better.
I know what you mean about struggling to get to sleep after an intense race! :larf:

Welcome to the new guys, good to have you along _b

You're right about the technology getting better - I've been playing around with projectors and such like, but now I am eying up an Occulus Rift Dev kit :D So what racing games work with occulus at the moment?

I was considering it also, but the downsides are many.
It's a dev kit not a final product
Low resolution 1280 x 960, 640x480 each eye
no warranty
Use while racing.. you're blind and what I mean by this is, no use of button box or keyboard for pit stops, so until racing games support voice recognition commands(surprised no one has made a plugin), useless.

So bite the bullet dan and go triple screens, it doesn't matter how big a single screen you have is, you're limited to the same FOV. Once you have triple screens you cant go back, just ask anyone here who has them.

Does it have a towbar to haul around the extra fuel tank? V12 6lt would suck a bit of gas... :auto:
