Race rules as per the KSR Race Rule Thread - viewtopic.php?f=49&t=18354

Crossing The Finish Line
When crossing the finish line, crashing your car is not acceptable and will not be tolerated any further.
Driver's are still racing and racing for position, crashing can cause frame hits for people and it is unfair to disrupt their racing.
Pull over off the track and Esc.. or drive back to the pits.. its just common courtesy.
Breaking this rule will result in points loss.

Race Settings:
Tyre Wear - Normal
Fuel Usage -Normal
Damage - 80%
Mechanical Failures - Normal
Flag Rules - Black Only
Driver Aids - Auto Clutch Only
Starts - Standing
Weight Handicaps - May be added if the race admin deems it necessary

DRIVER MANAGEMENT, CAREFULL ON FUEL....Some may have to do a splash and dash in Race1, could even be a two stop pit strategy in Race2

I'm absolutely gutted to find that Sebring has been replaced by Watkins...

My favourite replaced by my nemesis haha.

Quick question...

Are the barrels an indicator for how much curb we are allowed to use, or can we still use too much curb without touching the barrels? some of the curbs on this track are really flat and you don't really notice if you're on them or not, be good to know so I can get a visual indicator setup on how close I can get to the barrels whilst still being ok :)

The ruling is two wheels on the track at all times, curbs are not the track.

The barrels are on the edge of the curb / grass so drivers shouldn't be close to the barrels.

These are there to help identify the chicane without impeding on the racing line.

There will be a visual posted soon, including Turn 1

Just to help everyone understand the no drive zone at Watkins Glen, here are the two main areas that corner cutting can happen:

T1: Inside area and the run off on the outside. It is understandable that drivers from time to time may drive over the BIG ripple stripe as the cars drifts wide. The CC will be looking at this and anyone who does it consistantly will be penalised.

Chican area:
Watch the entry as drivers will tend to cut the left hand side as the enter this area. Again the CC will be looking at this and anyone who does it consistantly will be penalised.

The CC gave 5 drivers warning from the last round. The main issue was track cutting. Every driver did cut the track at some stage of the race but most of these were very marginal. The CC does realise that track cutting may happen from time to time, but consistanly doing it means your race line is wrong. Remember - Two wheels on the track at all times. No more warnings moving forward.

Is there anyway to keep the barrels there without making them solid?

Now changed.

Server was reset to complete the install of new software that looks at changes in values of selected grouped material objects.

Tough racing race last night, but still very enjoyable :D

I am glad I practiced my 360 degree spins durning the week, as they came in handy in both races. :larf:

In R2 it was a comedy of errors between myself, Vlad and Zimmie, with us all taking turns in spining and letting go of positions. Tried to make ground on Jonsey but he just held a consistant pace and kept 3rd.

Good race between Matt and Hugh. Top stuff _b

The CC has reviewed the last round and although the track cutting was less, drivers are still cutting the corners and riding the curbs.

Two drivers have been penalised for consistanly doing this.

The rule is quite clear in the rule thread:
Drivers must keep 50% of their vehicle on the racing surface at all times. The racing surface is defined as the portion of the track between (but not including) the painted lines. Pit lanes, their entries and exits, runoffs, additional paving, grass verges, curb’s, etc. are expressly excluded from the racing surface. A competitor may not improve his position by using non racing surfaces and should redress immediately should this occur.

Out of interest, what is the penalty for this?

Depending on the severity of the offence, it can be a warning, points deducted to removal of the league.
