I personally think it has a bit too much grip and a bit smooth compared to the other variants but is probably a safer choice for an enduroquatri21 wrote:I find this version of bathurst weird tbh but not complaining

i also find the corners weird...maybe im just too used with the other version as I ran it on endurance as well (6hrs)Bull wrote:I personally think it has a bit too much grip and a bit smooth compared to the other variants but is probably a safer choice for an enduroquatri21 wrote:I find this version of bathurst weird tbh but not complaining

I personally find all versions of the track outside of the Iracing one just dont feel right.quatri21 wrote:i also find the corners weird...maybe im just too used with the other version as I ran it on endurance as well (6hrs)Bull wrote:I personally think it has a bit too much grip and a bit smooth compared to the other variants but is probably a safer choice for an enduroquatri21 wrote:I find this version of bathurst weird tbh but not complaining

Both the iRacing and S397 versions are scanned so realistically only the texturing and grip levels should vary between the two

I believe rfactor 2 still does not have scanned tracks...they are still working on their first oneBull wrote:Both the iRacing and S397 versions are scanned so realistically only the texturing and grip levels should vary between the two

RF2 does a different type of scan. They are LiDAR scanned rather than laser scanned. Just a different method.quatri21 wrote:I believe rfactor 2 still does not have scanned tracks...they are still working on their first oneBull wrote:Both the iRacing and S397 versions are scanned so realistically only the texturing and grip levels should vary between the two
Their Bathurst track is a conversion from the scan they did for Shift 2 I believe (they have a working relationship that goes both ways)
That version isn't the one we are using for this series

The ISI Bathurst track is a "3PA" track (what they call 3rd-party content), and I'm fairly sure it's not scanned.Bull wrote:RF2 does a different type of scan. Shift 2 was by SMS, who do Project Cars - but I've no idea what the deal is with their Bathurst.
I do remember that for the very first rF2 league we did we had the ISI version of Bathurst, but we switched to the one we're using now, but I can't entirely remember why. The comments on Steam Workshop imply that the ISI version is worse than the current chosen one.
Obviously, it's not gonna be as good as the laser scanned iRacing one, but I believe it's the best available for rF2.

Yes third party. It may not be shift 2 but I know they had an agreement with one of the other studios to use it. There was a comparison video on the steam forums at one point showing them side to side
It's not used as the majority feel it's too bumpy and difficult to drive compared to the more popular version

Could that be because it was scanned before it was resurfaced? The feel i have had with both the RF2 versions is there is minor details missing that help with the immersion level and they also feel to wide.Bull wrote:Yes third party. Quite possible, the Rf version would be from probably 2013/2014

About the same time Iracing scanned it and there is a few bumps in that version too so that would make sense.Bull wrote:Quite possible, the Rf version would be from probably 2013/2014

What a great nights racing, till the last stint
Sorry to Fez for the amateur pass attempt at the last corner. Glad there was no contact.
The Crew Chief app told me you had called a Pitstop and you were pitting in, when you didn't I fumbled and went all thumbs trying to make a pass that wasn't on. Thankfully the concrete wall stopped me

That was an awesome race guys. It was quite a big field as well, which was great. My apologies for making a mess (of Porsche parts) on top of the Mountain and apologies for those I held up on that stretch of the circuit.
It certainly was the longest race I've ever done and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Having overshot a corner during the last 10 minutes of the race left me with ruined tires and a fast approaching green Lambo, resulting in a great fight over the mountain during the final laps of the race!
I dare say I prefer these races over Sprint races

My bad run at Bathurst continued.
Was an enjoyable night though, and was great to see some new faces and great sized field. Looking forward to the rest of the series and hoping to see some the new faces join us in other series as well
Well done to Alexis, and all those who finished on the lead lap, its an unforgiving circuit so to not go a lap down, especially without safety cars etc, is quite an achievement.

Re: 2018 Enduro Series: Round 1 Bathurst // APAC Round 3 (06/02/18)
A fun nights racing with some entertaining moments - watching Bull rolling at pit entry, Riffty running wide at murrays corner.
Stupid question time - how do you know when you have a puncture? Near the end of the race my car was wheel spinning under hard acceleration, even down Conrod.
I spent a couple of laps going quite slow while I studied the HUD - tyres looked ok, handling was ok, no trail of sparks
Maybe it was the gearbox? It seemed to come right mostly, a few laps from the end.
I had bumped the wall a few times, and left front & right rear guards were dark blue on the damage screen, but tyre temps etc looked normal.
Anyway, happy to finish right way up

Re: 2018 Enduro Series: Round 1 Bathurst // APAC Round 3 (06/02/18)
Was good racing until my first pit stop. I had Bull cutting the grass in front of me while I tried to get into the pits, and then once in the pits had Murphy shunt me out of the way which gave me damage but only gave me half a tank as a result. Killed the engine as I changed down two gears by mistake braking for the kink.
Cheers to the guys that held their line while the faster cars passed them.
Damn good racing with Mike while it lasted!

The first stint was great fun. I got the Jump of the line on Rifty and was 2nd for most of the first stint. Was interesting How Bull drove off in to the distance at the start but by the end of the stint both me and Rifty were catching him. Its just shame Myself, Rifty and Bull had our issues, IT would have been a hell of a race for the podium if we hadn't because over a stint all 4 of us were just as fast as each other. But can't wait for Sebring..... is Rifty the favorite for that race?

Ha!
Doubt it, as many know I love that track, however I've never placed well there.

Great track fun night indeed.
Congrats to top 3 and everyone that survived at The Mount
Sorry to Riven for the hit under braking at the Chase ( had to much rear brake bias )
Thanks again and see you for the next one

Re: 2018 Enduro Series: Round 1 Bathurst // APAC Round 3 (06/02/18)
Small question regarding the points site - I can now see the results under the NZrFL-45 Asia Pacific GT3 championship as Round 3 in the series. But when I select the 2018 GT3 Endurance series, I see nothing under results.
With the Bathurst round counting for both series, should I see the results also as Round 1 under the Endurance championship? Or will this only show those rounds that are only part of the Endurance championship and not for both series?

The points have been uploaded into the GT3 APAC league on the points site. But there's an issue with uploading the results into the Enduro league. We're not entirely sure why, but hopefully we can sort it out in the next few days.Erik wrote:Small question regarding the points site - I can now see the results under the NZrFL-45 Asia Pacific GT3 championship as Round 3 in the series.
