Driver Notes
-This track features an open pitlane. That is to say, there is no dividing wall between the pit lane and the track, there is also no pit lane speed limit.
There is however a dividing painted line, which pitting drivers will need to stay to the right of, and drivers not pitting must stay to the left of.
The pit lane is also downhill, so drivers will need to brake earlier than they may think to stop in their box.
-The start on this track is downhill. Drivers are recommended to leave their cars in neutral for the start so they do not roll forward.
-The standing start grid spaces are quite close together, so drivers should exercise caution at the start.

Just tried the track. I love this version but running the GT3's here just feels wrong.
I couldn't do a clean lap without hitting hay bales, telephone poles or a friggin house! I think this round would be very frustrating.
Why don't we just run Bathurst again?

So far, I think I've collected seven horses, four cows, two pigs, a family of 16 and someone's lounge. I've catapulted myself into someone's paddock twice and spending 7 minutes trying to find an exit again. Yup, this track is pretty nuts.

For some perspective, here's an account of the disastrous 1960 Grand Prix at Spa:
That weekend was regarded as one of the darkest in Formula One until the events at Imola 1994. Moss had an accident at the Burnenville curve during practice and did not race for most of the year. Mike Taylor also crashed in practice when a weld on his steering column failed which left him paralysed and ended his career.

In the race Chris Bristow, in a private Cooper, was dicing with Willy Mairesse when he got off line at Malmedy, crashed into a four foot high embankment and was hurled into some barbed wire killing him instantly. Five laps later, Alan Stacey was hit by a bird in the face and also killed.
As I'm solo parenting this week, I may have to miss practice and possibly be late for qualifying. Though this is going to be a race of pure survival so I'm not sure if starting ahead of the field is going to make things any better or not :)

Lessons learned.

1) Chill out on lap 1
2) Wheels are replaceable.
3) Old Spa bites a lot harder than new Spa
4) Don't go and try help stranded Porsches.

Cheers guys, was carnage at it's finest.

Congrats to Riven for the win (and the great lap time) and Growler for being the only other finisher with a bold fuel strategy, and Erik on the podium.

Also big thanks to Mike for doing the series - would be tough having split rounds like this, but it's been enjoyable.

Also as always, cheers Riven and Inspire for giving us the place to race.

Thanks for the races and hosting! And this last one surely was memorable!

And thanks twice to Obscene for putting my car back on its wheels against after collecting a pole in the first lap - and for very gallantly attempting to rescue my stuck 911 and getting stuck himself in the process.

Lesson learned from this race: If you make up 7 seconds on someone in one corner, it may be a good indicator that they would have a bit of a problem. So stop acting all surprised when you suddenly find a big red Bentley in the middle of a long sweeping righthander! :D

This was such an eventful race - carnage was the right word and lots of it in the first two laps already!
