The Next Road Racing League

Post by Inspector » Tue Apr 05, 2005 11:31 am

So as to get some real numbers of what game people want to race after the TPTCC League has finished I thought I'd start a poll. Vote for your number one choice and make comments in the thread in regard to your choice or second choice. We need to get a clear idea of what people want first choice not I would like this, this and this. Choose the main one you want then talk about other options in the thread.

We will assume that GTR will have a dedicated server sorted so don't not choose it for that reason. We will assume that the dodgy GTP install will be sorted and easy for everyone so don't not choose it for that reason. If there is a game not listed that you think is a valid "Online League" option then let us know so we can add it.

I voted for GTP with GTR my second choice (haven't got it yet)

There are no issues with GTP v1.1 install, version 1.0 was a bit misleading.

Ditto for me.
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Actually to clarify I'd like to see a short 4-6 race GTP season followed by a change to GTR assuming it passes muster server/net code wise.

Can not run a GTR league from InSPire Net until there is a new dedicated server released. Inspector is welcome to host it however.

So its GTP then till that gets sorted, ther are a lot of ppl out there that want to run GTR, a few more im guessing the Inspectors super connection will handle Comfortably.

Guess I better make some room for another Nascar install.

*Edit*

Crapbag, should have read all of Inspectors post first :) .....

Problem is finding an F1 based game with good netcode. Unless you mean GPL :D

Well in terms of good netcode GTP would be closest to F1 than anything else I think.

And Schumacher used to drive a Mercedes Group C sportscar. :>

OWR is quite good, the tracks are changed to suit the cars though (e.g. OWR Indy) and they are very fast, average speed at indy about 210MPH, dunno how it would go online though.

There was going to be an OWR 2 but the FIRST thing scuppered it

bit early to say yet as we're not quite sure how 20+ people will go in a GTR race, or if there will be a dedicated server in time

Don't know as to netcode, but NETKAR has a fantastic F3000 and a good range of tracks. Car is quite forgiving but responds well to being pushed. LimeRock in the F3000 is a blast. And to think it is largely the work of one guy.

its dated and incomplete, it has issues with the car shapes that wherent corrected. the physics are lackig unless your a riven or dan wood. and there are better options availible now.

oohhh yeah! if you flog hard enough it will move along the ground.

but when i look at whats available compared to my
'state-of-the-ark' machinary compared to cost of upgrading...
then its either flog it until it gets up or walk myself. :D

who wants a running race? 100 meter sprint? or enduro (1000meter)
