Car number poll
Lots of discussion on numbers, what do we do?
I voted to change to last season results, keeps it simple. I don't look at the number on F2 I always look at the name.

I have to agree with unbound now after a long think.
Much like many things people have their favourites and numbers just happen to be one of them, but in all honesty how often do you actually see these whilst racing. In my opinion the new numbering system will just look "prettier" for the replays etc.
As a new comer I'd have to admit the number meant nothing to me while racing, I was always looking for a name to which I had associated a color car, I wouldn't have a clue what number 95% of you were.
Food for thought..

This is my suggestion to the race organisers....
Numbers 1 through to 50 are reserved for last years league drivers (even if they don't take them as their official number) all drivers have the choice to use that number or place it on their car (only in an approved place and layout?) as a secondry to whatever race number they choose, i.e. their N ew Zealand standing. At the end of each season drivers must relinquish their number to the driver who wins that spot in the current league?

Must admit I'm kinda fond of 888, thru its v8's association mainly, not adverse to a change however, its not as if the no has brought me great luck
My prefernce would be 2 digit nos NOT season standings, dont wanna change it all the ruddy time.

YEs im aware of the spellin, perhaps a reason for it
Well it appears that democrassy is the winner?
if you check the poll....
Leave the numbers as they are - 6 voted
Leave the numbers as they are, but have last seasons result on plaque (if you wish) - 8 voted
That is 14 in favour of leaving the numbers as they stand with 8 of them opting to put their "NZ" number on "as well" if they wished.
Change to last season result number if you wish, others keep personal number - 6 voted
Voted I think to have the freedom to choose?
Change to last season result number, new members start at 50 - 11 voted
Basically I see that as 11 for compulsary change to "NZ" number, 14 as leaving at it is and another 6 for a free choice
Which adds up 11 against 20?

I say let people have the number they want.
Back in the olden days, we chose 3-digit numbers so they didn't interfere with the driver numbers that come with the game did we not? If we let people choose 2-digit numbers will that fudge anything up? If not and we open it up so it's open slather on any number between 1 and 999 should we then reserve 1, 2 and 3 in case the last seasons winners want them?
I've just confused myself. It's all getting too much.

The whole purpose of this poll and "possible" renumbering was to standardise the league and it's appearance in sim tvs movies etc obviously the poll was not clear enough and gave people too many similar options.
if I understand Inspectors suggestion right, you can basically choose whatever number with first rights on last seasons number or placing

...all rights on last seasons placing/number.
i.e. numbers 1 to 50 can only be used by the person who finished in that spot last season.
So TonyG takes NZ #2
Bold takes NZ #3
Inspector takes #444 with the official tag in the official spot (NZ #4)
Bazzil takes #512 but doesn't want to display NZ # = NO ONE ELSE CAN HAVE #5
Mud? Clear as?
This is only a suggestion, it's not set in stone.......or mud for that matter.

[oldageclauseon]Whoops sorry, I mean't Dan but I was thinking Tony[/oldageclause]
Typhoon the NZ thing came about earlier on if you had been listening instead of watching those porn flicks you got from Mattly's mother....
The point was to indicate you were #1 etc from the last season and because we felt we are "the" NZ Online Nascar League (hence the Aus V's NZ Challange) then it would be good to say you were NZ #1, NZ #2, NZ #13 etc etc.
