Nascar CTS League - Race 2 Eight Bowl Super Speedway

Post by Inspector » Tue Jan 18, 2005 1:43 am

Race 2 of the Nascar CTS League - Eight Bowl Super Speedway

Once again the Nascar CTS Roadshow returns to the "left & right turn" fantasy track Eightbowl. League organisers chose this track based upon requests from the drivers as they found it a good fast track with a little bit of variety. Unlike ovals, the inside line can not be defended because as soon as you grab it and go round the next corner it suddenly turns into the outside line unless you hug the wall going down the straight, leaving the door open for a drafting group to accelerate past you into the next corner. Team tactics can certainly play a part on this track and as always the super fast pit entry will claim a few who lose their focus at the wrong time.

Defending champ Dan Wood will no doubt be getting flash backs from his horror run at this track in season 1, finishing 7 laps down on the DuD driver Happy. Snake Rogers, Odie and Bold will certainly be looking to repeat their great results from that race, but I'm picking UnbounD, Bazzil, TonyG and Mattly to be the wild cards on Wednesday night and they and a few others will be looking to throw a spanner into the wheels of the previous winner. The quietly improving Prozac stands a real chance based upon his showing last week as does Eagle32 and newcomer Jason Dellaway will be worth keeping an eye on.

Some great advice for ALL drivers has been posted by Eagle32 as a result of last weeks race and everyone should have a read!! Feel free to add your advice to help your fellow drivers.

How to Race Ovals

Please note that although practice starts (especially for rookies) at 8.30pm, the server will be changed to league mode at 9.00pm (just before Riven knocks off work). This change has been made to allow skins/car numbers etc to be updated as late as possible to resolve a few of the problems we had last week.

We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday night and good luck to all.

I am looking forward to racing on this track. I like it.

My goal is to make it in the top 20 and be the 1st rookie to cross the line.

Its not to high a goal so should be able to do that as long as I keep out of trouble.

Well I bet 20c on a major smash early on, with such a large field and people having difficulty with the inside line alternating each corner O_o

A preview of next weeks news.....

Team DuD move into first place after cleaning up at Eightbowl. The wheels fell of the bins once again allowing space for "SlimTV" to squeeze through but their good fortune didn't last long as they were taken out by Team "ugly green cars" on their way to a Scrumpy stop!!!!

The Anime battle carries on as we speak and we can see the Munsters parked on the infield at the moment, out of their cars throwing cans of "laughter" at the "marbles" who seem to be parking up and threatning to paint the opposistion cars in a similar "red door" colour scheme as their own "there's a red behind your bed" statement.

There is no doubt the the DuDs will clean up the awards this season, especially the good looking, intelligent and best all round chappies award, although it is unlikely they will be able to steal the crown for the biggest "sack" team currently held by Team Wheelie Bins.

I think it will be sparse winnings in the betting once the pot is split between all members of the nascar racing squad. In fact I think the wheelie bins are so banger, they will bet against themselves ;p

yes well with the Marbles all over the show and the bins still waiting for the Truck to tip them back upright, and Sim TV combing their hair for the cameras while the Monsters complete their animated Track entry and Team scrumpy sleep off the hangovers, The DuDs will have the upper hand by merely turning up to the track.
