I've been practicing offline to get ready for the next race, and gotta say, this will be a doozi i O_O
The pit entry is narrow............. = spinning
The pit exit is narrow............... = spinning
The corners are tight............... = spinning
Passing on the inside............... = spinning
Impatient drivers.................... = spinning
30+ drivers............................ = spinning
Tyres wear out quickly............ = spinning
I think it's gonna be a great night

This isn't directed at you Tony but I feel the need to pre-empt all the crying that is sure to come as it has on the last two small tracks.
If people spent more time practising and less time crying about the small tracks they'd go a lot better. But people come into the track with the wrong attitude and it goes badly. Is it really suprising?
If everyone can concentrate this week on there own driving and track knowledge rather than crying about the track we might get a less crash happy race.
Everyone should know the following as a bare minimum of knowledge on any track.
Pit speed limit.
Pace speed if it differs from pit speed limit.
How to enter/exit the pits on cold/worn tires without spinning.
How to drive the start on cold tires without spinning.
How to drive 2 wide at the start on cold tires without spinning.
How to drive high and low lines on the track, especially if you have to go substantially slower to hold those lines.
How to slow the car in a corner without spinning.
Generally how to drive without spinning your own car and causing chaos.
That's my short list for now there is more but these spring to mind first.
Anyone that's going to come on to the track without taking the time to do some practise and has the attitude "small track why practise it'll go badly anyway" or "I've had an accident f..kit I'm screwed" and stops concentrating will cause accidents and get caught up in them and I suggest that they sit the race out for everyones sake.
Let's see if we can do this one right!
Is it Wednesday yet?

Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Excellent post Eagle! This is the sort of post the organisers would normally come up with. I foresee a new organiser raising his hand very soon? I think Eagle makes it very clear, each and every driver is responsible for making it a good race.
Good also to see positive attitudes from Tony and UnbounD. Despite all the carnage in previous races and negative post race comments, these guys are willing to give it a real go and what's more help their fellow drivers.
Happy, Bazz & I are hoping to get together tonight or over the weekend for a bit of GTR gameage and we will also have a run on Dover and offer up any advice we can. Be good to see feedback from any of the drivers after they have had a practice on how you feel people should approach the race/track.

Hehe, I figured. Just covering myself. You know what post lawyers can be likeTonyG wrote:Well said Eagle , I was trying to be a bit facetious, but you put it a lot better
I did indicate in one of the discussions somewhere that I'll make myself available in whatever capacity is needed next season.Inspector wrote: I foresee a new organiser raising his hand very soon?

Im wondering if the secret to us running smaller tracks is maybe to reduce the wear rate to 1x.
We uped the rate to make the superspeedways more interesting. Small tracks are more than interesting enough. With the lack of grip on good meats and the damage a spin does at 2x, 1x might just crack it for us all.
Someit to thunk about:)

The setups fine. The track is trickey to drive and the pit speed sucks but it's a lot of fun
Some people need to learn than that if they blat off for the first few laps the tires go to shit in no time at all. If on the other hand you ease off just a little bit more in the corners your tires will be a lot better to drive on. Looking after your tires is going to be critical tomorrow.
Despite all the crying during tonights practise a single spin doesn't root your tires either. A couple of spins causes some wear and you'll have to drive accordingly but they are not "completely shagged" by all means.
Even with a tire in the red and the rest yellow you can turn 26s laps if you drive the car appropriately. Yes your a couple of seconds slower but the point is that worn tires are not an excuse for spinning yourself all the time. You not practising enough to drive on worn tires is not the cars problem.
The idea of 1x wear for short circuits has some merit. I do however enjoy the extra stratergy 2x wear brings to the racing, especially on tracks like this where wear is heavy and drivers who think about how they are driving are rewarded.

all you have to do is make sure you always have at least some accelerator on, if you lift of completely then that's when she starts to spin.
Moreso entering the pits, all you do is apply some brake but make sure you never lift off the accelerator completely, otherwise round she goes
Dunno how Doug will enter the pits without spinning being a right foot braker and all
Patience will be key in the bit race

Apologies all round, especially Pat who I abused badly, I'm not well but his blocking the track when I was leading really got my goat, yes it was practice race, but hey I don't win anything so I got real shirty.
