Re: GTR League Startup
Count me in
my ideas: 2 races a night, 25mins each. First race starting at 8.45pm. No pitstops, aids allowed, but recommend only using low traction and low abs. Damage off for the first league atleast. NGT only and start next week. 15minutes to qualify, starting at 8.30, no warmup. Run all 10 tracks in order.

I will be in.
I agree with all Bolds suggestions except the damage. I believe that the only way to stop first corner incidents and over agressive passing is to adopt similar rules to Ron's TPTCC League? His start procedure worked very well I believe and if the organisers of this league do not do something similar we will be faced with the first corner antics we have already seen in the trial races.
I think over agressive driving should be punished by damage and if league points are at stake then penalties might have to be considered. The reality of competitive males racing online I'm afraid

I would like to try a 3rd party track asap tho. Le mans preferably.
also need some choices of skins if possible.
damage should be on. Itll teach you the hard way to not hit or get hit and stop arcade racing.
theres always a 2nd race on the night!!
also need a definite statement on connection speed. DSL or ISDN only?

Count me in.
Here's my preferences:
- Tuesday night 8:30 start (8 is pushing it with work and child etc)
- 2 races, 25 minutes is gud ya.
- 10 rounds sounds perfect, tracks, well i don't mind which ones we use, standard or third party is good.
- Qualifying, yes
- Pitstops might spice things up a bit, although might be better left for a second league while we concentrate on racecraft to start with.
- Damage on
- NGT only
- Points, F1 style would work well I think that way even lower placing may still be challenging for points by the end of the race.
That's all, for now.

My Tuesdays are busy at the moment building another car but count me in.
Also 8:30 is a better start time for me.
I, like Basil would prefer Monday nights but if i miss out so be it.
If I couldn't make it for the league every Tuesday night, would you still allow other players online some Tuesday nights to race or lock it down?
Growler.

Im there, ill go with what ever for the first one.
In saying that, you can count me out of the particular event...... Le mans is boring for me personally as the straights are too long and it gets a bit boring.
Not likely.......... With ppl still struggling to come to grips with Normal size tracks, Le mans is a bit unrealistic at this point..... Maybe as an enduro for the next one.famin wrote:im in

Re: GTR League Startup
Tuedays night 9:00pm Start. 8:30 at the earliest please. Monday is out for me due to Nascar Hardcore although a few races of anything mgiht have to give over the next few weeks.
Tracks - 10 default tracks in order
races - I'm happy with 2 sprint style on each circuit for the first season
Qualify - YES
pitstops - For sprints no, but I'd like to see the second season adopt something similar to the old TPTCC styles with a mix of sprints and longer races with pit stops.
Aids - Steering and Braking Assistance OFF, we are racing each other not the AI
ABS and Traction control allowed - If they were off I know I'd not have the time to practise enoguh to keep the car on the track
Damage - ON. It worked well for TPTCC and people are far to dodgey on road courses when they don't have to worry about their car. The 2 sprint race format means one bad race doesn't kill your nights racing.
Cars - NGT (for first season)
Start - Doesn't worry me.
Points - Everyone should get points in some style, F1 points would crush my spirit too much when I sit on zero all season

Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Yes good point, that could well be me too But then imagine the joy at earning that first championship point if you've been stuck on zero all seasonEagle32 wrote: Points - Everyone should get points in some style, F1 points would crush my spirit too much when I sit on zero all season

no, you can use any NGT vehicle, its just that the GT3 RS porsche and the Modena are the best.Biteme wrote:Just recieved my copy, havn't tried it yet but count me in. pref' Monday or Tuesday.
Any one have any skin templates? And scuse my ignorance but are we limited to the same vehicles?
Please, by all means use the Elise.
ps: is the Morgan an allowable NGT car?

NGT is what the server is currently locked too. ie.
Ferrari 360, Porshe GT3-RS - The actual NGT class cars.
PLUS
Porshe Cup, Lotus Elise and the BMW - G3 class cars which are a slower class than NGT. Easy to drive but no match for the actual NGT cars.

Regarding the points, if everyone gets points then you can create competition throughout the entire field.
i.e. people (like myself when my wheel arrives ) who know they're not yet in the running for the top spot, can compete in the lower levels with those of a similar skill, instead of just being "less than 6th and on zero points".
It doesn't de-value the achievement of being in the number one spot, but creates a more rewarding (and encouraging) experience for those that are just starting out.
