CTS Season 3 Leadup - Ozark Superspeedway Practice

Post by BAZZIL » Tue Jan 18, 2005 12:24 pm

Ozark Superspeedway Meet

Wednesday the 19th of Jan will be the Last practice night before the VR Concepts and InSPire Net CTS season 3 league get under way.

Race starts at 9:30 (not 9:00 as previously stated)

Get the track here: Ozark Track

This is a chance to get some practice in and on a new track that we thought quite fitting for the League.

Please sign up for the league over at http://www.simracerhq.co.nz if you have not already done so, be sure to read the rules aswell as they will apply when the season begins.

Ok this track has serious issues.

I went through a full tank of fuel after pitting and my tire temps had dropped to around 100 all around. Tire wear was almost none. This was on the Inspire server and locally in single player so it's not just me. Prozac was on Inspire with me and noticed the same issues.

The settings for the track surface seem to be something like super glue. It's extremely hard to spin the car, as soon as it gets sideways at all it flips. If you throw the car to full steering lock around a corner it goes round on 2 wheels a fair distance before flipping.

Can I start a petition to have it removed and replaced by something that isn't horrible to drive round? Both for tomorrow and for the league. It's extremely boring to drive on after 10min and is well, just screwed. Unless someone has an update that fixes it?
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

I agree fully with eagle, surely there are better 3rd party superspeedways around.

i had a gander in the INI file and the grip values are set too high, we shall see if we can't sort something out :P

I set them down lower and didn't have the grippy problems

But what about temperature, and wear etc? I think you should just find another track personally -_-

Here is an ini file that I suggest everyone puts on and has a go, seems to work all apples.

Bummer, liked the track the way it was, really fast in a touring car..

Anyone tried the Bullitt Speedway, weird but fun, has a nice fast narrow tunnell for carnage and great little 3rd gear left hander after huge high speed straight...

Gave me some ideas for a track design, but not sure what next?

Aint got the skills to do anything with the idea technically but anyone keen to chat about building a track Simcentral Track let me know.

Race starts at 9:00 BTW as we're racing 5% longer races for this season and Riven is racing in TPTCC so there is no need to start later.

When did we decide to start earlier? I get out of work at 8:30 your time as does Jay, which only gives us 30 mins to get home and set for qual. Lets leave it for 9:30, 5% adds what 5-10mins to a race.

Sorry about the prang in the first few laps (about lap 4 I think) guys. Otherwise I had a good race from 25th to 11th :D
I found pitting quite hard at this track :o
