OWR Series1 Round2 Details Update

Series1 Round2

Milano 3rd July 2005

Round Format:

Practise = 1st Race Practise:30 minutes >> 2nd Race Practise:15 minutes
(*2nd practise is not compulsory, drivers can have a "time-out" here .... have a coffee/smoke etc

)
Qualify = 2x (1x for each race)
Laps = 2x Races Both 20% Race Distance >> Milano @20% = 16 laps
Setups = FIXED (see below ***TBA)
Points = to be award in both Qualifying and Race sessions, the driver with the highest overall combined points total will win the round.
For Qualifying: 10 points for Pole, 9 for 2nd, 8 for 3rd etc (to be adjusted if more than 10 drivers enter)
For actual Race: 20 points for 1st, 18 for 2nd, 16 for 3rd etc (to be adjusted if more than 10 drivers enter)
In the event of a draw/tie ....fast lap time (between drivers tied) for the final race will be the "tie-breaker" (ie: 1 bonus point)

Server will open at 8.30pm

Password = DAZA (all in caps)
Ventrilo = Inspire.net.nz >Nascar "OWR Series" room

Practise Night: 30th June 2005

Practise Format:

Practises = 20 minutes

Attention All Drivers:

Make sure you have downloaded and installed the Milano track and TonyG's "Milano track ini edit" .....available on this earlier post (half way down page)

SETUPS..... I will using the default "fast" setup (which goes well here) but will be "tweaking" thru the practise night, if Im able to produce a better setup I will post here for all to try.
If you have a good setup for this track please attach here for "testing".
***TBA ....The best setup will be used as the fixed setup for the round

If we have time tonight there are 2 Oval tracks I would like drivers to try for Round3

OWR Atlanta

OWR Pocono

These are both "default" owr tracks found ingame
Good setups to start with are the Jp's ones .....available on this earlier post (half way down page)

Tony's setup will be used for Round2 at Milano ...great set Tony

Fastest time recorded in last nights practise was by Tony with a 1:55.46

.....followed by Daza with a 1:55.74

....this track will produce some very close racing and should be very interesting to see who wins this one

....to those who couldnt make last nights practise, make sure you have done a few laps before sunday, as this track can be a little tricky

Wide load set the blistering time of 2:01.86

But most of them in the 2:04s. So maybe a bit more practice is needed.

That would be an awesome track with a full field on it very easy to drive

yup...it is an easy track to drive and heaps of fun too

But there are 2 corners to watch out for, esp if you are the following car

....all drivers will be aware of these corners by now

Looks like we may have 11+ players for this round .....action is gonna be a plenty

, the fan on the heat sinc crapped out just as I was getting ready to open server (murphy's law

) typical

The fan started making a metal grinding noise followed by a puff or two of smoke

....then it set of a warning beep from the PC that was like a smoke alarm (needed earmuffs

)....time to shut down

Np's....all fixed now.....dam $15 parts

Ive altered the details of Round2 to this coming Sunday 3/7/05
.... hopefully nothing else craps out

Damn this game....simply too buggy for me. Tried all night to get it to run and endless ctds. Managed a clear run for a bit and couldn't get into server. It looks like crap and needs some finishing ..doesn't seem to like any other mods in the same install perhaps. Will persist for a bit and see if I can get it to run...but not feeling the love at all at hte moment.
