GTR SEASON 1 - RACE 3 - Enna
3rd race this week at Enna. ISDN data rate is now the rule after successful (well by gtr standards ) run last week.
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Anyone got a good setup to share..
The quickest I have done is in the high 1.44s (Porsche 911 GT3-RS)
You guys are 3 - 4 seconds quicker !
Damn I must need more practice !
Cheers

Loved the first race, was pretty intense.
Second one got Borked off the line By Gregory who seemed to do a Mark Scaif then ended up in a big bunch and got spun. Was fun tho!!
Sorry to Jon who I took out before one of the chicanes......if you are going to brake hard 400 metres away for a corner, stuff going to happen
Server/client played well, and we shall soon be able to save all our replays too make some Movies with

first race was a disaster as I dropped off the edge about the 4th turn of lap 1 and had to battle back up the field. I made it to 5th then misjudged those damn tyres in the first high speed chcane and dropped back again. Just missed pipping Major havoc for 10th I think at the line.
Good fun battling though.
race 2 was much better as I managed to out qualify everyone but 1st gear was a bit tall and I bogged off the line letting 'Sad' get away.
gregory managed to slip ahead in T1 so 2 laps were spent dispensing with him and by that time Bazz had managed to haul himself up to me. One small mistake and he managed a good pass in the last chicane and then I just hung on to the gap as best I could. Funny how I kept striking bad traffic at just the wrong time which extended his gap out to 8 or 9 secs but eventually he made a mistake and I was right on his tail again for the last lap!
Pressure told eventually and on the very last chicane he fell off entering the pit straight. Easy peasy to drive past on the inside and voila.. 2nd!
A good pressure race. I must remember to practice starts next time with either a shorter 1st or spinning the bags rather than attempting to hook up 1st in a sweet spot!
Seemed to be quite a big of carnage all round the circuit as usual.
If I can offer some advice, this league really favours careful driving. ie: really drive it like its your car. (except during lap 1 carnage - amended on advice from Liquid!) Go fast where you can but dont assume you can attack corners like arcade racing. Arran is one of the best exponents of this in practice racing. Not the quickest driver but always in the top 5.
Bring the SEAT to NGT I say!

You did a overtaking move on me and then pushed me onto the grass which i take is why you lost it. Getting a bit to agressive in the first few corners there Famin, what happened to "Cold tyres take it easy, slow in fast out"famin wrote:first race was a disaster as I dropped off the edge about the 4th turn of lap 1:D

aaah was that the problem?... slow in fast out is when you have the luxury of a clear track.
Lap 1 first couple of turns is trying to make the corners in a pack or trying to get that jump. but yes, youre right, mea culpa, i shouldve backed off and waited till later.
i coped better in race 2 in the same situation for sure.
apologies if I caused you any problems then Liquid.
Id better amend my other post about driving carefully eh?

what were you doing in welly today Bazzil?
i just passed a new peugeot car number plate BAZ512 I kid you not!
It was biggish (a 5 series?) and metallic blue.
btw no stutters and no glitches at all in those races for me.
Should we suspect there is a threshhold of equipment, be it cpu or graphics card memory or something below which these problems happen?
