Nascar CTS Race (Sat 22nd - 9.00pm)

Post by Inspector » Sat Jan 22, 2005 6:17 pm

The boys at the Lan in Palmy will be hosting a Nascar CTS race at 9.00pm tonight for everyone to join.

We will be racing the new track that TonyG found Riki Raceway so grab the day version and she will be all go with server up for practice at 8.30pm and race qualify at 9.00pm.

The server IP is: 203.114.137.18

Hope to see as many as possible in for a race so we can test the track (might end up replacing Ozark) and also a good test for the connection.

Ah great. Wasn't sure if you were going to race during the day or if I'd make it back from the cricket in time if it was evening. The cricket was all over by 5pm though so I am good to go. :)
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Replay Analysis Web Site.

Well done Bazz :)

Lets have some feedback on the track guys. It is quite popular with the guys at the Lan. Could be all go to replace the Ozark track?

Have your say.

I like it , It does have a few dodgy groves and bumps and the visibility on corners is tight :D but it is fun, and that's what we're here for, so I vote we use it :)

That track was great. The only issue I could see was the gap in the pit wall. Although anyone abusing it is bound to be seen by someone during the race and the difference in qual. time would be obvious.

I thought it was a lot of fun to race round and I really think it would be a much better track than Ozark.

The power outage seemed to signal the end of my good luck managing to slip past 4 wrecks/accidents in front of me. After the restart it all went the other way. I got taken out or caught up in accidents several times and took Biteme out at least once and tried to steal his pit stall :P But it was all good fun. And to awnser whoever of vent. said "is it really all fun though?". Yep it is, catching up after getting ripped is a good challenge despite the cursing at the time when the ripping happens :)

Oh and Eagle's Rookie Racing epiphany number.. something. When drafting watch the track ahead not the car ahead. Watch the car in your peripheral vision. If ya try to watch the car you swerve all over the bloody place. I know this will be real obvious to all the old hands but it's taken me a full season + some practise races to actually figure out why I've had so much trouble drafting. Maybe I'm just slow. I certainly get target fixation... err maybe target isn't the best word O_o

Yus, it's a goodun. Blind corners make it much more interesting. It's wide enough to pass people and it will probably improve everyone's skill level because it needs more concentration that most of the others super speedways.

Tut tut Gregory for driving into the middle of the track, Mr Wood was nor too pleased >8p

Lol Happy. I watched the replay through and the part where Gregory and Mr. Wood had a "disscusion". I didn't see much of the chat because I was still racing but I know Gregory said he didn't cause the accident. Which was true of the first part, Gregory got taken out. The second part where he got hit by Wood however was due to him driving up the track to turn around.

A lesson to everyone to watch the f2 screen if your in a position where the only way you can turn yourself around is to drive across the track especially in the middle of a blind corner. Need to make sure there is a lot of time before you do it so no one comes flying round the corner into you... especially the race leader :)

I like race replays, it's always interesting to watch afterwards and see what happened . You really can't tell for sure mid-race there may be factors involved you weren't in a position to see. _b

Gregory's response.
Talked to Wood after race and he was 'sweet'. No issue there.
