Checking in
I've been racing for a while (I still have the Thrustmaster T2 I used with Microprose Grand Prix and Grand Prix 2), but never really feel like I'm know a track or car well enough to race competitively.
I did a little iRacing for a while, but spent the whole time practicing. Only ever did one race. I was paranoid about crashing into others! (I didn't, btw)
Really enjoying GT Legends and DriveClub at the moment.
It looks like I need to buy rFactor to be involved here. More practice ahead!

Re: Checking in
Welcome to KSR Kerryland.
Keep an eye on the forums for the next league and jump on when we are practicing to see how you go. Speed is not the issue for newbies but car skill and handling around others i.e not weaving and being able to drive race lines.
Cheers

Re: Checking in
Hey Kerry, grab rFactor and join in
We've all had to start as a newbie online at some point.

Re: Checking in
rFactor bought. Pukekohe and Bathurst installed.
Now I have to find a more fun car to drive. Currently I seem to have *one*, until I earn some credits.
Any recommendations for tracks/cars that are likely to be used in upcoming races?

Re: Checking in
We post mods when we are nearer the league dates.
When you are in game, type in the chat box ISI_BABYFACTORY
Then escape from the race and you will have unlocked cars and got some credits.

Re: Checking in
Start with some of the touring car stuff, like BMW 1, Skoda's etc. Something not overly powerful that you can get a feel for the game and physics etc with before you start diving into the other stuff.
Aussie and NZ Tracks are a good start point cause they get used quite a bit, and are generally a bit shorter then a lot of european tracks so easier to learn.

Thanks for the advice. Have to say that I love the volvos in race07. So easy to roll in Knutstorp (great track)

Re: Checking in
If you've played Race or GTR Series the transition to rFactor wont be hard as they are all based off ISI's (rFactor) game engine
