The sensible me agrees with Prom.
18 year olds with turbos, who like to "go for a hoon" from time to time scare the shit out of me.

That said....
Get a GT-four dude!!
Best bang for your buck you'll find. Fast in a straight line, AND corners like nothing else!
I swear to god I fell asleep at the wheel down the Kawerau gorge and my car still nailed every apex for me and made it through the gorge in 7 minutes flat ;)
They're also fairly economic when you go easy with your right foot (phbtt! Never happens), and comes with the usual Toyota reliability.

This one's on trademe for 9,500 ONO

But yeah....what Prom said...
Get a Corolla.

Looks average as its wof history mostly showing fails due to lights and 'other'. Only 3 owners (including dealer) and was first reg'd in nz in 2001. Rego ran out sept this year and the car lives in the nations capital. It's a 1994 and as far as i can see its never been written off.

It certainly has the baby Supra look about it.

With all the extra gear on it, that car looks like it's related to Megatron :Puke:

It's about as tasteful as Austin Powers car, and you'll be looking back later in life thinking - what the hell was I thinking ? :D

stay away from gtx familias.... gearboxs go bang way way to easy .. i know you will drop the clutch .. and it will go bang therefore stay away from them. and also early gt4s are in the same boat unfortunatly

im with clive if you wanna go the mitsi way .. the 1800 is the better option keep an eye out for the roof rust ( all do it )

ive had a wrx .. loved it had no issues .. but ALL my mates did .... and were expensive..

supra... older ones were better in my opinion ...

id tend to go with a rwd....more fun less maintenance etc...

but in all honesty .... without being predjudice ive had turbos rotors and v8s and 6's ....
with 10 g you'd get a pretty nice xr8 or maybe i hate to say it but ss or something and would outlast you mates jappas any day of the week .... and sound way way way better ... more room in em too

On Top Gear Season 13 - Episode 2 the boys mention the new Atom.....
It makes the old Atom look quite tame and reserved haha.

As far as im aware, the 96+ mitsis do not suffer from this issue, well none of the 4 or so CM5a gsr's or Evo 4/7 ive had, nor any of my mates ones have had that issue.

I know up to 1995 mitsi used a sealant that absorbed moisture causing the roofs to rust from the inside out, which can only be fixed by having the roof skin replaced.

They have the same roof rust problems that the evo1-3 shape lancers suffer from. Nice cars but you need to find one thats been reskinned (roof). Check for cheap repairs on the roof. Quick reliable cars though

You would never get a Evo (4) for 10 grand. Might aswell get a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R

You can get an evo 4 for under 10k easy, but it will be a moderate to high km car, in not exactly excellent condition. Not worth it imo.

Looking at this car, needs a paint and abit of bogg..

Non turbo with will be cheap for insurance and gas.. but still looks good..

Spec S model, meaning its non turbo. Very easy to change that though!

18"x9.5 wide wheels (15p offset in front, -05 offset rear with 20mm spacers)

Apexi pod filter

Daiyama adjustable suspension 6kg front, 4kg rear

Adjustable camber arms

Adjustable toe arms

Cert for everything, Meaning it is fully
legal.

Full Final konnexion body kit

25mm Genuine Dmax widebody front guards

35mm Genuine WSX widebody rear guards

Does not come with Wise square tail lights. It will come with the standard lights.

Aftermarket headunit, and aftermarket front and rear speakers.

Alarm

Spec R exhaust from cat back

The rear guards have been moulded but the are a couple of small cracks. Easy to fix when it comes time to paint though.

Looks like it has potential to be a very nice looking car. Just weigh up whether its worth the money after its painted, and how practical it is where you live ie: how low it is etc. Also get rid of the fart cannon on the back if it has one, unless you want unnecessary attention. being an SR20 i'd be checking that it has had regular services too, I know the SR20's have a common fault of the oil squirters for the cams blocking up with shite through lack of servicing, turning the cams into perfectly round steel rods :)
a quick look under the oil filler cap into the head will tell you, if theres gunk all through there id want a closer look before buying
