The 4Ds use a SVO version of the WINDSOR block, The holdens use a GMs block called Aurora block. (RE:cadillac/northstar)
They refer to as a Holden Motorsports Engine or an "Aurora" block, but the only GM Aurora engine was the 4 litre DOHC Oldsmobile V8. go figure

With the latest cars XR8/SS
The 4D is 5.4ltrs (or 330 cubes) DOHC
the SS is 5.7ltrs (or 346 cubes for this engine/not 350) OHV

Under the 2009 operations manual section C-7 subsection C-7.1, line 7.1.2
The maximum Engine Capacity permitted is 5000cc
yeah and they restrict holden motors massively compared to the 302's which is really just a beefed up 289. FORD doesn't run big blocks in their cars anymore so it really isn't a contest between Ford and Holden. If it were Ford would not stand a chance.

I thought Holden ran the 6.0L Gen4 for the latest V8 range?

Don't know if anyone knows but Mark Winterbottom could be a whole bunch of trouble.

For the 3rd time since Friday he has been accused of (and accepted responsibilty) blocking guys on fast laps.

This time in practice 4 he sent the Greg Murphy Racing car (Sam Walter at the wheel) into the wall.

Don't be surprised to see a major penalty imposed on the FPR car

Not saying he doesn't deserve to be up the front, but it was hardly even with the track drying..

Still made for some exciting drives over the top :D

we seem to have the house covered for viewing. 32" TV outside beside spa and BBQ, 50" TV in kitchen, projector showing the race in the lounge and 32" TV in my room.
Only missing a TV in the bathroom, for those toilet stops.
Making fun of Nascar fans is fun, and if they chase me, I just turn right.

From what I can gather Murph has started putting the foot down, running 10 flats.

888 have no clutch, so have fun leaving the pits.

Giz can just about make it untill the end.

5 more minutes >_<

btw ads in the news :ffs:
