Re: Le Mans 24 Hour 1970 - Progress Update
Further update
The race is about the 8 hour stage and Kiwisim is going well. Viking is at the wheel and we have just been caught by a Ferrari 512 and are currently in 6th position. We are leading our p3000 class by nearly 3 laps (115 to 113 laps) and the battles for us are with the s5000 cars, seeing how many can fall off or have problems in front of us. Gav got us going with a great stint, fuelled by red bull (2am start) he set a blinding pace for our class. i managed to keep it on the track for a couple of hours and a server crash, which meant a rolling restart, Viking is going well and Mofo is up next for his stint.

There is, but you have to be given permission to use them and have a login..... bit silly really.
10 hour mark............. 1st in class, 6th overall.
Mofo chasing down the S5000 Ferrari that just passed us, beating him every sector. Still 2 laps up on the next P3000 car (a Matra). Lead car is a Ferrari 512 on 153 laps, we are on 147.

Re: Le Mans 24 Hour 1970 - Progress Update
Mofo caught the Ferrari after his pit stop, it chased him down Mulsanne and stacked it in a hail of bits at the end. 2 laps clear in 5th, 2 laps behind 4th.

A few incidents, a full course yellow, and a server crash later....
We're now 12.5 hours in, with Rolo behind the wheel.
Still 2 laps up on the nearest P3000 car, and currently scrapping over 6th overall with a couple of S5000s.

Less than 8 hours to go.
Rolo did the stint before me, before heading off to work.
Just finished my stint, and handed over to Mad Mofo. expecting a 2-3am finish.

2 and a half hours to go...
We've got almost 5 laps in the bag over the 2nd place P3000, and currently 5th overall.
Gav's at the wheel and, purely to make a point, he just cranked out a 3:39.9 in the pitch dark

Last Hour.
Mofo currently 4th, but not expecting to hold place as we have a pitstop remaining.

Re: Le Mans 24 Hour 1970 - Progress Update
Just got home from work and saw the results. Great work in the evening guys, i knew we would eventually blow that Lola into the weeds. The race was a real experience and it was great to be in a team. It would have been interesting to see how we would have gone in a S5000 but I expect we would have been right up there, maybe next year.
Thanks guys and well done.
