Bathurst 1000 - Mt Panorama 2011

Post by Kinser » Fri Oct 08, 2010 4:16 pm

She's all on and I'm just wondering why it's been a bit quiet on the forums of late reagarding Bathurst.

HOLDENS vs FORDS, Mt Panorama.

Great news for the Holden fans, Craig Lowndes has broken Murps record of 7 years to claim the fastest ever lap around Mt Panorama.....what a rush, great driver alright. Considering earlier this week Murphy was aksing Lowdnes for some help to make sure his car would be up to scratch for the weekend.

http://nz.sports.yahoo.com/motorsport/n ... d-bathurst

So does that make Lowdnes the favourite for the weekend or is Courtney in the Ford going to turn it up.

I betcha Mentl is having a ball being a Holden man.....he'll be loving it.

o0o0o Yeah kins she's gunna be a good one this year, im looking forward to it.

With the new TV at home should make it a blast watching it on a 50" plasma in HD with surround sound!

It's good to see Murphy's record broken, but hell a 7 year streak is something you cant complain about, Lets hope Murph can have as good'er come back as he did last year hopefully he will grab First place though..

Bring it on!!

Lowndes did his lap on the "green" softer tyres. If a few more get the soft tyres to work with their cars well there, we'll see more laps under 2:07.

Oh and you wont be watching it in HD unless you get a feed straight from Channel 7, or via a torrent after the race. TV3 doesnt get the HD feed, too expensive for the satellite time or some such.

I blame TV3 for that, poor buildup q- And I'm not looking forward to the coverage they'll no doubt butcher like last year.

Always an epic battle :D Personally Im not into the Holden vs Ford thing (not like they're that different anyway) I'll be cheering on the Kiwi boys like Murphy, Coultard, Richards, Gizzy etc

I really hope the talk of opening up the racing for other manufacterers to get involved comes to light, the ATCC in the mid 80's was brilliant _b _b

Won't be anything like those days tbh. With the car of the future being launched it'll be more like Nascar with the manufacturer's

Sure was one hell of a crash and what a start in the office for Fabian Coultard, better than Dreamworld :D .

I enjoyed today's great race and when I think that Mt Panorama has being home to many great legends is the past, you can just add another name to that as well Craig Lowndes, how good is he, whether it be in a Ford or in a Holden, he's a magician around Bathurst.

Stoked as for Lowndes/Scaife too win 'the Dream Team' and then followed home by Jamie Whincup...Team Vodafone were on song throughout todays racing, bloody awesome.....and defending Bathurst champ GT home in 3rd. Yes a Holden domination but all credit too all those drivers.

Mentl will be drinking up a storm and he'll be stoked as with a Holden victory :D

You're possibly right, but I'd like to hope it wouldn't become like that.

Craig Lowndes  ....the thruth is if you put him in either a Ford or Holden he still kicks arse at Bathurst, just a great driver in general and can drive the wheels off either two cars. It sure was different seeing the mixture of drivers partnering up for last Sunday's great race.

Mentl bro, please post up some more wonderful pics that you have............and by the way bro, congratulations on getting engaged, bloody awesome news :thumb:

I grew up a Lowndes fan and when he switched to Ford, if a Ford driver was to win he was the only one that was allowed to! (other then a kiwi like Van Gis) Was stoked he won Bathurst, rather him then Whincup for sure. Just shows how similar the cars (ford & holden) are though that it takes them such short turnaround time to be at the top again. It'd be good to see the rules opened up a bit and let Ford actually use their OHC engines that are in all their falcons rather then that ancient pushrod stuff! Plus hopefully a couple of other manufacturers to spice it up a bit.
