NZFMR - Hampton Downs
Anyone going to Hampton Downs this weekend for the Festival of Motor Racing?
I didn't make it up there last weekend, so will definitely be going on Sunday!
Tickets are a little pricey, $40 for adults, or for 2 adults, you can buy a family pass from the website for $60
Here is some pics from last weekend to get you in the mood...
The beautiful McLaren Can-Am cars A full field of F5000 Maybe some touring cars are more your thing? And Muscle cars are always fun to watch, especially when being beaten by a Mini!

I was there last week and it was great! In Melbourne this weekend so won't be there. And yes...Angus Fogg in the Mini against the Mustangs was a great race! The Lotus 47 was pretty quick too.

That escort is a nice piece of work..
Had a great day at the track yesterday, beautiful weather
Should have said you were heading along last week Growler!
I'll have a look through my pics sometime and see what came out well..
The Can-ams looked and sounded fantastic as always. Shame there weren't a few more on the track though.
Next year it is a celebration of all things Ferrari, sure to be another awesome event.
Here's a couple of quick shots of the Can-ams

This Saker was in the 'hard stand' first weekend.
For those who have no idea what a 'hard stand' is. It's what the kids today call it when you park up and show off your car, usually reserved for cars so low and wearing such soft chinese 24" rims you can't drive them in anger.

Re: NZFMR - Hampton Downs
Been a bit of time since I have been on here but thought I had better pop in. Dad and I were driving the Gulf Porsches for both weekends and had quite a bit of fun Had a bit of a gearbox issue in one race when the diff went pop on the start line but managed to replace it and ran for the rest of the weekend. Was quite a bit of fun racing with the muscle cars, watching their hundreds of horsepower disappear up the hill and then pull them back in on the infield.
I didn't really get to do much looking around the paddock this year as I had 4 races a day but of what I did see there were some pretty special cars out there, although I don't think that the turnout was quite as high as in past years.
Met Danman on the Sunday which was good to put a face to the name. I should be back for a bit more sim racing this year I hope. Probably not in the first league but hopefully the following one I will be able to get back into it.

Fantastic... although I think I'd only be able to handle the power of the one on the far left!
What year is the one to the left of the 924? I've always like these older versions. Classic shape.

Yep, I'll be keen next year. Also the leadfoot festival and v8s at puke coming up over the next couple of months.
