How thick is Telecom?
I had a phone call tonight from a Telecom representative saying they have a new awsome deal for me.
It went something like this...
Telecom: Sir - have you heard of Total Home?
Growler: Yes I have
Telecom: You are paying around $108 a month for the line rental, call waiting and broadband. Total Home is all that for $99.
Growler: But my cap has gone up to 20Gb. Total Home only has a 10Gb cap.
Telecom: Yes - but for an extra $10 you can increase that to 20Gb.
Growler: So that means I'm paying the same as I am now?
Telecom: Errr...ahhh...yeah.
Growler: So what is the benefit of that?
Telecom: Ummmm...errr...
Growler: Well...?
Telecom: Looking at your history you have never gone over 8Gb.
Growler: So? Whats that got to do with it? Infact I have gone over my cap several times.
Telecom: Ummm...errr...(long pause)...
Growler: So you have phoned me with this great offer that turns out to be nothing.
Telecom: Ummm...looking at it I think you are better off on the plan you are now.
We both wished each other a good evening and left it at that.
Mindyou - I do get similar calls from Vodaphone and the like and to get the same plan I'm on it will either cost me more money or I'm saving $3 - $4. Woohoo!!
I'm not going to change for the sake of change. I'm waiting until someone offers me something more substantial.
Rant over!

I get a similar thing from Telecom wanting to give me a free top of the line camera cellphone to join there network...
the first thing I ask is the retail price of the phone... usually $300-$500 mark, then the megapixle of the camera... usually 1.3mp
I then go to tell them I use the camera part for work all the thime and currently have a 5mp camera so there so called free top of the line camera cellphone is a down grade for me and do they have any the same that they can give to me instead...
they usually make an excuse and the call ends quite quick...

Its also interesting to know that if you are not in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, its costs an extra $10-00 per month.
No, he didnt slam into you, he didnt bump you, he didnt nudge you, he rubbed you, and rubbing son, is racing.
