whats a good program from making videos etc (not vegas pro because it doesnt want to on my computer)??

Sony Vegas Pro
Adobe Premiere Elements
Adobe Premiere Pro
CyberLink Power Director
Corel Video Studio
Windows Movie Maker
I wouldn't bother trying to use anything but Vegas Pro or one of the Adobe Premiere products.

Vegas by far... would persist in trying to get it to work to be honest.
